Please explain how this works

I hope some of you can shed some light for me... I am planning on going to WDW The last week of Novemeber. I was looking to stay at the Saratoga cause it looks like OKW is not available. A couple of people suggested that I purchase points. So can someone tell me how this works? Is it cheaper to purchase points?

Do you mean rent points from a DVC owner? If so, check out the rent/trade board and see what's available. Good luck!

I would guess if you aren't a DVC owner, they meant it might be cheaper to rent points from a member than to pay the cash reservation price. You can go to the rent and trade board and see if anyone will rent you the points for the time and length of your stay. The points usually rent for $10-$14 per point. The number of points you will need depends on what size of unit you want, what DVC resort you want, and what time of year you are looking at going. You can determine that by using the points calculator at the top of the page. Hope this helps a little.
