Maybe the woman had to really scrape that ten bucks together; from the sofa cushions or the family change jar.
I know there have been times in my life when ten bucks made a difference in my week!
I very seldom keep cash in the house- use my debit card for everything. When my son needed $3 for a school planner, the teacher got two singles and four quarters, because that's all the cash I had on hand. Better change than not getting paid at all.
Yep! at least she joined .....now get her to volunteer.... LOL
(and if you seem ungrateful or negative that will be even more difficult!!)
It sounds like that was all she had. It may be an inconvenience for the treasurer, but at least the parent is involved in the school. I would focus on the latter.
We don't do too bad with INS checks.... about 4 in the last year. We do ask the folks to cover the $10 fee charged by our bank if the check is returned due to their error. If we hold the check for quite a while and they close the account or something, then we eat the fee.
