Background, we'll be leaving from and going back to Las Vegas

Question on the table should I switch around days to avoid the expected high crowds on Wed, Thrus and Fri (March 28th - 30th) and if yes, what do you suggest?

Leave for California at 9am. We should arrive in Los Angeles at 1pm.
We will check into our hotel for a two night stay. Hilton US
After check in we will head to the beach and then have lunch somewhere.

Check out of hotel at 9:15am; and drive to DLR 1.5 hour drive
Check into Disneyland Hotel around 11am.

Disneyland Park at park opening 8am
Rides and attractions until girls are tired
Leave and drive back to Vegas

Leaving Vegas to go to Cali on a Sunday and leaving Cali to go to Vegas on a Fri night could become very long nightmares due to traffic. Everyone else who drove to Vegas from Cali will be going home on Sunday and everyone driving to Vegas from Cali will be leaving Friday night. If you can, you should switch your dates around. I would leave for Cali like on a Monday, and leave for Vegas like on the Saturday. Or leave for Cali on Saturday the weekend before, and leave for Vegas on Thursday. But that's just us. We we warned by all our Cali relatives, and to date, have never had a problem. we've seen it where the traffic going to Vegas on a Friday night is at a standstill for miles not even moving. All it takes is one accident...

DisneySuite... thank you for the insight. I'll take your recommendations into consideration as I don't do well sitting in parking lots... Im mean traffic!

Thanks!

I would suggest 3 things.

Like suggested priorly, your travel days are a recipe for distaster. I would slide them forward. Leave LV on Saturday(you could even leave Saturday evening or night) and come back on Thursday. If you can't change them, be on the road from Vegas by 8am and don't stop until the far side of Barstow. Leave LA by 11am on Friday. This will keep you ahead of traffic.

However, my second suggestion is you really would like to have a 4th day in the parks. It will be crowded.

Sometimes the night shows get canceled. So I would aim to see Fireworks(the most likely to be canceled) first, then F! then WoC. You can double them up or even see all three in a night. WoC -> Fireworks -> F!.

Thanks! Based on the suggestions provided I have additional questions.

Would it make sense then to do DLR Monday -Thurs (add 4th day to PH)? Check in DLH on Monday, which means leaving Vegas on Monday to avoid traffic.

Check out of DLH on Thrusday after our day at the park head to hotel near USH. Do USH on Friday all day. Check out of hotel on Saturday morning and drive back to Vegas.

Does that make sense? Will our girls 6 and 11 be let down after 4 magical days at DLR by finishing our trip at USH?

Ultimately I would try to finish with DLR. It's like having dessert after dinner.

If you drive back to Vegas Saturday morning, it's a lot better than Friday pm. It's not perfect because lots of people do the same, but not aweful like Fridays. It's a decent plan B if you can't slide everything forward.
