Ok..

While reading my younger sister's J-14 Magazine, (tabloid magazine with celebrity gossip aimed at younger teens) they printed an article about some Disney Channel stars. (Highschool Musical, Aly and AJ, etc.) The pics portrayed them standing outside of and riding Expedition Everest. However, the magazine wrote that they were riding 'Expedition in Everest' at Disneyland. To my knowledge, I have never heard of this ride being built at Disneyland. To top that off...a few of the stars had on WDW shirts...so I assuming it is a typo on the magazine's part. Please confirm this for me...I argued for an hour with my sisters trying to tell her that there is no 'Expedition in Everest' in Disneyland!

or is there?

The article obviously was not properly EDITED.

Very sloppy, but what do you expect from "journalism" these days?

EE is ONLY in DAK at WDW.

A "TYPO" is one thing (don't I know it?) :goodvibes
but MISINFORMATION on a grand scale like that is worse than "sloppy"... its LAZY!

Most likely the mag bought some photos from a freelancer and had a jr. editor "write something up" to go with the art. Amazingly inept!

Whoever wrote the article, I wonder if is still working there, to get the name of the ride and the location wrong? hmmm

It is Expedition Everest at the Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World.

Heck, they probably PROMOTED 'em!

Likely anyone who is "breathing" and comes into work more than 4 days in a row is "senior staff" at some of these rags.

Thank you! I knew it, but I just needed you all to back it up. I guess in my eyes, I do not understand how someone could get something like they wrong!!!

My 14yo DD read that article and next thing I know I hear her yelling at the magazine in her room and then she comes storming out to me to tell me all about the idiotic mistake. :rotfl2: She cracks me up sometimes.

I'd write/email them and point out their error to them. Part of the reason being that some people might read that and then expect to see that ride over at DL. None of us, of course. :)

The Matterhorn does have the yeti as well. THAT'S at Disneyland...but your magazine is grossly misinformed.

Matterhorn has "A" yeti (or two)... but not "THE" yeti.

You can beti
that the EE yeti
can geti
the little DL yeti
to look like confetti.

As I print my own magazine (Theme Parks Magazine) I can certainly attest to these things happening! You read a story to many times and things get glossed over. I always like to say that I was the one that wrote the line "Islands of Adventure burst on the Orlando scene in 1998!" when it actually opened in 1999. I still kick myself about that one 2 years after the fact. On the flip side I am now VERY careful, and actually re-plated a page just because I was off on Magnum XL-200 (a coaster at Cedar Point) height by 1 foot.

However, I do feel sad that a magazine that has such a high distribution can make such a sloppy mistake.

Actually looking back at the magazine they named the ride 'Exploration in Everest'. The name of the ride is wrong, and the name of the park. Being the big WDW fan that I am, I don't see how anyone could get that confused. But i guess some people are misinformed. I am going to write to the magazine about it to point out their mistake.

So it said Disneyland instead of DisneyWorld. It's a mistake in some crappy magazine aimed at people under twelve years old. Who cares?

Actually J-14 is aimed at teens older than 12, as well. It not only printed the park name wrong, but the entire ride name as well, and I do care about this.
