Please change the menus

left the Dream on Friday from our 17th cruise. When will Disney change their menus. I know there are many repeaters on the ship, isn’t anyone else tired of the same menus? My son used to be a chef at Disneyworld and they must constantly change something on their menus to keep them fresh. Not DCL. The Pirate menu in particular is awful. Next cruise will definitely go to PALO for dinner or even on deck. Never have I not been able to find something on a menu I want to have for dinner, finally ordered a side of salmon, which was so dry. I indicate on comment card everytime to change some of the menus....for years been the same.

Ironically, the pirate menu is one that has changed somewhat recently. I believe it changed in 2016, and IMHO, it didn't change for the better. For the most part, I'm fine with the menus not changing. Most menus have something I like, and since I only cruise once or twice a year, I don't mind having the same items always there.

I agree with the OP, the menus need to change. We've only completed 7 cruises and no surprises when the menu is placed in front of us. Luckily no Pirate Night on the next cruise (west coast). I too will be commenting on this old song and dance of a menu the next time (in May) when the form shows up.

I agree - the menus need to change. I really don’t like that I know what I’m going to eat 4 months from now. Looking forward to Tiana’s since it will be our first time, but not at all jazzed about the rest.

The one that needs to change the most imo. Is the one where you draw the pictures and you have no choice of appetizers. Only one to choose from that has three different things and it’s not good imo.

I believe that has changed recently. Last summer it was still the set menu but someone posted that you get to pick now.

Even with only 1-2 cruises a year, I'd like some more variety. I enjoyed the regional inspirations in Alaska and Some of the special menus in Europe.

They changed it, at least on Fantasy. It’s now a regular menu, with the same numbers of appetizers as other menus. They still ask that you order everything upfront. No more ‘make your own cupcake’ for the kids.

I agree - the menus need to change. I really don’t like that I know what I’m going to eat 4 months from now. Looking forward to Tiana’s since it will be our first time, but not at all jazzed about the rest.

Tianas Place was amazing and the menu was great....u will enjoy the food and entertainment in the dining room

We totally enjoyed the menu at Tiana's Place. Excellent Cajun and creole food. And the beignets are fantastic. Can not comment positively about the entertainment. We were at Table 16 which is front row under a loud speaker. The noise (that close it was noise) was deafening. We ate and ran. My ears were ringing.

How come no pirate night on your SD-Van cruise? We did that cruise last year and there was pirate night (which we skipped for Palo!) Is it because it's a member cruise?

I agree the menus need to change, we are going on wonder soon so hope for a tiny bit different, I also agree with noise but in rapunzels we just get deafened and can’t even hear the show.
I actually look forward to cabanas lunch these days. When we were in Norway in August the chefs bought some fresh fish and had it on the carvery and there just seems to be some different foods each day

We went on our first cruise last month and we all liked the pirate menu. I read these boards and can't figure out why people don't like it.

Agree. the Prince and Princess menu is my least favorite. Our last cruise was a SWDAS, I was very disappointed to get the P&P menu instead of the Pirate on pirate night.

I think percent of people who are on their first cruise versus their 15+ is pretty wide. Why not try a new line? As someone who only cruises every 18 months I love the DCL food.

I did the live chat several months ago - to find where the port adventures were located on the web site - and asked about pirate night.
The CM said there was nothing listed. I really don't know if it was not on the list, hadn't been added to the list, or the CM didn't know where to find the information.
I should call and verify (I've received conflicting info between chat and call).

It'd be interesting to see a breakdown of how many passengers on what cruise are repeats and how many. Even after one cruise, looking at our second, I'm struggling with "do I order the dish I'd most like even though I've had it or something that's different that I think I'll like?" I can't imagine 17. But I can't imagine 17 in general.

We are doing the pirate menu for the first time and I don't get the issue. It looks great to me. I've asked the same question: do you not like the options or do you think they're prepared poorly and it seems to be the options. Maybe too exotic?

I am cool with the menus as they are. I don’t change up what I eat at home that much, so I don’t get the whole “need something new” thing. I’m not overly picky, but I don’t like (or need) a surprise when the menu is put in front of me.

RCCL changed their menus up between my 2016 and 2018 cruises and not for the better - especially for gluten-free or other food allergies. So be careful what you wish for. Different is not always better.

When I saw this thread I thought my wife started it since this is one of her complaints on DCL.
