Please assist a confused DVCer on codes and rates!

Ok, since I becamea DVC member I haven't had to make a cash ressie. Wait, I did once but I was an AP member and got an AP rate. Anyway, we're looking to go to WDW May 2009 for a "conference" of mine that is held at a DTD hotel - the Hyatt. I'd rather stay at a WDW resort myself, and last time I went to this conference I got a better rate staying at POFQ than at the conference hotel and so it was no problem getting my company to reimburse it.

I'm looking at room only rates now and I'm not sure it will cost less to stay at a WDW resort vs the Hyatt. But I'm reading about codes and rates and such and I'm lost.

Where do you find these codes?

Are we talking about PIN mailers?

How can you add these codes to your ressie? You book it, put a down payment on it, and then... add a code?
