I called to book our trip to BWV next February. Well, I was asked "preferred or standard view." I was a bit shocked...I asked, "Is standard available?" and was told that to their shock, it was indeed available.

Although I had the points to do preferred, I figured I'd book standard and (if I really want), I can change later. So we have a 2BR for Feb 8-14th. :bounce: :) :Pinkbounc YIPPEE!

I have not, however, stayed previously at BWV (although it is our home resort) and would welcome any thoughts people have. Specifically, are there any requests I should be putting in? I am thinking about top floor (figuring it might be quieter than near the parking lot) and maybe near an elevator (although less quiet, a bit more convenient). Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks! :)

With standard view, the rooms close to the elevator are next to the entrance where they valet park. We had a top floor room across from the bus stop in December and had a great view of the Illuminations fireworks and could even hear the music!

We always try for the std view, I prefer not to waste my points on preferred unless I have to. I wouldn't worry about the parking lot. I have never heard anything from there, but last yr we did have a good view of Illuminations fireworks, which was nice, when the kids went to bed, dh and I would watch the fireworks, that's about as romantic as it would get for us...

We will be there almost the same time as you, Feb 13th - 20th. We decided to go down on the 13th because ds will still be 2 and we won't have to pay for him (pass wise). His b-day is the 14th, so we will be celebrating his 3rd bday with my ILs and BIL too. This will be a fun trip for us, looking forward to it.

Thank you for the thoughts. I am propbably going to request and upper floor (and then check in super early to try to get my request) to get a good illuminations view. Are there any other things other than upper floor I can say to get the illuminations view??

carone - we too have a 2 year old DS we will be bringing he will be 2 1/2 at the time and one last "free trip" can't hurt ;)

Thanks again. Other suggestions still welcome.

I would request across from the bus stop. That will put you about half way down the hall, far enough for a good view but not too far to walk.

I just called and added that preference to my ressie. Thanks debbie

We have had two rooms standard view and the view really varies. We had 3121, a 1BR, and it was almost at the end of the hall but a nice view of the fountain. Last year we asked for a 2BR close to the elevators and got the first room off of the elevator (Dad had a ECV). It was great for dad but RIGHT over the parking area, a little noisy and not much view.

We were in 4121 a couple years ago but I have read on the boards that the best standard view rooms of the parking lot / entrance are 2123, 3123 and 4123 because they wrap around the bldg and the rooms are a bit bigger and so are the balconies.
Great view of Illuminations!!

I think I'll add 4123 and 3123 as preferences on my ressie.

Great help all...much appreciated!
