We will be down on the DDP in a couple of weeks. When we go to the Plaza, some of us usually get ice cream and some lunch. Question--can we use 2 TS credits for 4 people if my teens only want to eat the dessert from our meals?

Sharing is expressly forbidden when using the dining plan or eating at any buffet at Disney for that matter. You eat, its the appropriate TS credit or menu charge. I believe it is in the terms or use for the DDP.

You could probably do this at CS but at a TS the server is likely to catch this.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I hope you do enjoy your stay!:thumbsup2

Hmm, surprising. I can understand that buffets are per person, but I did not think this would be an issue since we are all on the plan and not ordering 4 meals, only 2.

That is actually WRONG.

Yes, you can't share at a Buffet.

You can share at regular sit-down restaurants though with or without the DDP. We just went a month ago and DH and I shared our dinner entree at GF Cafe'. It was completely fine and they even brought out the entree pre plated and split onto 2 dishes.

share away. I promise it's ok.

The plan states you can't share your credits with individuals who are not part of your reservation (as in Uncle Bob and Aunt Judy want to drive in and meet us for the day, so let's "share" some of our dining credits with them).

It also states that "meal entitlements cannot be shared between guests ages 10+ and guests ages 3-9". That could be open to interpretation. Mine is that they don't want child credits being used for adult meals. This is supported by the plethora of reports that adults can order from the kids menu without a problem and be charged an adult credit.

Notice the language in the plan focuses on the credits/entitlements, not the actual food. Nowhere does it say, for example, that two adults on the same reservation cannot share a meal if on the DDP.

The vast majority of feedback has been that sharing meals (at non-buffet establishments) is not a problem at all. (If I recall correctly, though, I think I've read that a couple people had trouble at California Grill (???) which is a signature restaurant.)

ElementCamper, where did you see that sharing a meal between people in your own reservation is expressly forbidden?

Thanks for the input. When we first used the meal plan years ago, we shared with no problem. Have not tried it the last couple of times. I did read that Beaches and Cream does not allow it and so we will try at the Plaza and see what happens. Worst case, we'll pay OOP for our ice cream, no big deal. I'll report back.
