Any opinions? I've seen the menu and it looks good and reasonable. But I've also heard that the service is slow?

we ate there last year ...it is a slower pace with people lingering over their sandwiches. we enjoyed our lunch but don't have plans to go back this year -
food is good-

This was DH's favorite lunch of our trip in August. He still mentions that his sandwich was the best he's had. All of us were happy with our meals. I'd certainly return there.

We ate at the Plaza on our honeymoon trip last month and loved the experience.

We arrived about five minutes before our ADR; there was very little wait before we were seated and we were shown to a table sprinkled with confetti.
Our waitress was very helpful (making suggestions since this was our first time eating here) and very friendly. She was also accomodating - DH made a couple of changes to his sandwich order and I ordered a cherry coke, which they didn't technically have but she had them make one for me using cherry syrup they use on the icecream. There was no problem with any requests we had and throughout the meal we didn't have to ask for refills of anything.

I ordered the vegetarian sandwich and DH had the cheese-steak sandwich. Both were very good and very filling. For dessert we split the apple charlotte. Everything tasted delicious and the portions were large.

I certainly wouldn't say that the service was slow, but the atmosphere is a bit different from other places in the park. The service was prompt, but not at all rushed. We found it to be more relaxed and a nice way to take a brief break. We would definitely eat here again.

We liked the Plaza. The service was fine and the sandwiches were good. We also liked the kid's menu because they had peanut butter and grilled cheese which our boys will actually eat. The sundaes were wonderful! The Plaza was a nice break from a busy day at MK. My DH and older son had been on the Steam Train Tour early that morning. The younger one and I had a blast in Fantasyland before meeing up with them after their tour. After a few rides in Tomorrowland, it was time for our 11:30 ADR and everyone was hungry and ready to sit down for a while. It's a relatively small, quiet place that provides a nice alternative to Crystal Palace and the other bigger, busier restaurants.

I have been there on every trip for years and I have never noticed that the service was slow. The food is good, the location is great and it's a nice air conditioned break from the madness on Main Street!

DF and I had lunch at the Plaza last year (Dec '07) for the first time and really liked it. We had a nice seat by the window overlooking Main Street and the patio with all the umbrellas. We liked the menu selections and didn't think the service was slow at all. In fact, they were quite prompt but we never had the feeling of being rushed. It was also a nice break in the afternoon. We'd definitely go back again. :thumbsup2

It's nice to see so many positive reviews! I love the look of the menu and LOVE the fact that they have grilled cheese on the kids menu for my DDs! They're vegetarian and unless you want Mac 'n cheese every meal, sometimes it's difficult!
The reason I asked about the service was because the TGM reviews of the Plaza by other patrons were consistent about slow service, like ridiculously slow! Glad to see that's not always the case!
I'm thinking about this for a later afternoon on an extra MK day.

We ate at the Plaza for the first time in June; there were 9 people in our party and we had to be split between 2 tables. They were not right next to each other, but on either side of the entrance door. It turned out to be fine! However, we loved the food, the atmosphere, the decor, our waitress, the entertainment, etc. It was a nice change from the hustle and bustle of MK. We will definitely eat here again (not sure why we had never eaten there before:confused3 )!! Don't forget to order ice cream -- the milkshake was incredible! We give it two thumbs up!!

Easy location to get to with basic sandwiches along with selections of ice cream/shakes. We have always received good food from the Plaza, but service may vary like any restaurant at this level. Over recent years the club staff have always referenced Plaza as one of the CMs lunch time favorites. A plus here is that it is attached to the ice cream parlor next door, so you have a good selection of ice cream oriented desserts too.
