I needed a meal on my MK day besides Crystal Palace for breakfast. I have never been here before and decided it was high time I try it. I just have a couple questions:

1) What can you reccomend to me that is good to eat here?
2) Do they have seating near the windows that look out toward the castle? I have been by this place many times but never been inside.
3) How long should I allow for lunch here? My seating is for 11:10 am.

I dined at the Plaza on Thursday. I was alone in MK with my DS2. We did EMH-AM, then he fell asleep for his afternoon nap. I was able to get into the Plaza without an ADR with almost no wait. Maybe 5 mins to be seated.

I sat towards the center of the room, I needed room to park my son in his stroller. You can see outside from the restaurant, it's really a pretty view.

I had the Plaza club with fries. It was delicious. I couldn't finish the entire sandwich. I was saving a little room for dessert. I had a mint chocolate chip ice cream sundae.

The burgers looked good. So did the cheesesteak sandwich. I just didn't want anything that heavy.

I thought I was going to have a quiet relaxing meal, until the Mayor and his wife came in. They sang to those celebrating birthdays and chatted a bit. They were very funny, but VERY loud. I still can't believe my son slept thru it!

I'd say my meal lasted about an hour. But I was in no hurry to leave. The food came quickly and the service was very good. The waitress replenished my iced tea before it was empty. If you're looking to eat and get out quick, I think you should have no problem.

1) What can you reccomend to me that is good to eat here? I love the Club Sandwich. There were 6 of us adults who ate there last Fall. We all got something different and everyone loved what they ordered.

2) Do they have seating near the windows that look out toward the castle? I have been by this place many times but never been inside. They do have seating along the windows, but you can see the castle from just about any table. There is a small room towards the back that is all windows - it's great place to sit.

3) How long should I allow for lunch here? My seating is for 11:10 am. I would say 45 minutes to an hour depending on how relaxed of a meal you want.

I'm glad to see good reviews of the Plaza! We are going to be at MK for my birthday, and I had originally had a res for Tony's. But, with the heat, I really don't feel like eating a heavy meal, plus we wanted to do the wishes dessert party and the time wouldn't work out with our Tony's res. I had heard good things about the Plaza, plus I am a sandwich fan (they don't feel quite as heavy to me as Italian styled food...plus I saw they have reubens and I LOVE reubens). So I changed to a 5:40 ressie here. It sounds like a very enjoyable place to eat, and I'm looking forward to it! Thanks for the info! :)

I have eaten here twice and have liked the food both times...so let me try and answer:

1.) I had the Reuben and the burger. Honestly, they were both awesome...so I would recommend both. The Reuben was well-sized and tasty...as was the burger.

2.) They do have seating all along the windows. We sat at the window seat closest to the door the first time we ate there and in the middle of the room the second time. Even from the middle, we still had a good view...

3.) I think our lunch was around an hour. If you are there at noon, you will probably get a visit from the Women's Booster club (or were they the Women's Suffrage Union or something like that...) if your kids are sleeping when they come in, they won't be afterwards. I know that firsthand...heh...they're fun though. Also, while our lunch (once we were seated) was an hour, we actually waited for our seats, even though we had a reservation, for another 15 minutes...so maybe set your expectations for that and hope for the best.

Our lunch was at noon, which was nice because we got to watch the Move it Shake it parade from outside before we were seated..

I had the reuben on our last trip. It was DELICOUS!!! :goodvibes

Hope you have a very Happy Birthday! :cake:

Oh, and the banana split was awesome as well...

And my son got the Mickey-shaped PB&J and the Mickeylodeon sundae, which he seemed very pleased with.

We enjoy the Plaza for lunch but never have used the meal plan there because it counts as a table service. We always have reservations but have never been seated right away. The restaurant is small so from just about any table you can see out the window. I'm sure you can request a table and your reservations are early so it should work for you. My favorite is the Ruben sandwich. Enjoy!

Thank you all for the information, I plan on paying for this one OOP. I am glad to hear that I can probably have a good view anywhere in the restaurant.

I see everyone has answered about their favorite food items at Plaza (and they covered most of mine). I'm just going to post a couple of pictures to give you the idea of the size of the sandwiches--they are huge...I normally only eat half because I have to have my hot fudge sundae for dessert:

(This was my dessert--and DH was trying to steal it before I had even taken a spoonful!)

I agree the pictures are making my mouth water. Makes me excited about eating here in August now :)

If we weren't on the DxDDP, I would have paid OOP for my meal too. For the Plaza Club, 2 Iced Teas and the Plaza Sundae my bill was $20 even.

I have to say, the Plaza fries are the BEST fries on WDW property!!! I really enjoyed them!!! I had ordered the fries just incase my DS2 woke up, he loves fries. He never did and I had them all to myself! :rotfl: I had asked about the german potato salad, and it's no longer available. They replaced it with a broccoli slaw. I recommend the fries! :thumbsup2

Dessert is a MUST!

I think the Plaza is a wonderful spot for lunch.

We called while at Disney and we were able to get a table for 8 at the Plaza. We had eaten so much for days we wanted a break and ate here for a late lunch cancelling our ADR's for dinner.

Our party of 8 loved it, except for my picky eater who ordered a strawberry chicken garden salad (why she ordered this I have no idea). We had the steak and cheese, burgers, clubs, ruebans...all very good. The desert was very good, the icecream sundaes are very good.

We used our dining credits because if we didn't use them here we would have them left over but I agree it makes more sense to pay out of pocket.

ooh, I'm glad to hear it is good! It is so disappointing when you think it is going to be a wonderful reuben you have been dreaming of and then it isn't...hehe :cloud9:

Thank you for the birthday wishes!! :)

KatMark, Thank you for those pictures. The food looks delicious!

Sorry guys...probably shouldn't have posted them during the lunch hour. :rotfl2:

Never be sorry. It's all good. Just can't wait to get there.
Sry your missing your trip this yr. The ecomony stinks so bad. I thank God I managed to get this trip in. Maybe you will hit the lottery. :)
You never know. I play my $1.00 a wk in Philly and a $1.00 in NJ. It takes 1 to win.
