Plaza or LTT for lunch?

We are planning a TS lunch in MK. Originally we were thinking Plaza b/c we have been there before and really liked it. We will probably have 1 TS credit left so we thought this would be a good place to use it as we could share the app and a sundae for dessert and just pay for the other sandwiches OOP.

But I have been looking at the LTT lunch menu and it looks really good. I have heard mixed dinner reviews but not much about lunch (although I admit the pics I saw of the pound cake dessert are definitely tempting me!) Also, it seems like their dinner tends to have long waits to be seated - is that an issue at lunch too?

Anyone have an opinion when choosing between these two? FWIW, I have two DDs (3 and 5 1/2), both picky eaters so they may or may not eat at either place (dessert they'll manage to choke down! ;) ) But plaza may be more likely with the pbj and grilled cheese (DD3 will eat mac and cheese but DD 5 probably won't find much - but may not eat anyway so it is not really worth deciding just based on her).

I appreciate any advice! JJ

You can't go wrong with either. They are both fantastic. I think I prefer LTT because of the Sweet Tea and honey butter & bread. You have to ask for the honey butter and bread for lunch. The Salmon dish is awesome. The Plaza is great too. It's one of my favorite hamburgers on Disney property! I get it with carmelized onions, cheese & bacon. YUMMY!

Since you've already tried the Plaza, I think you should go for LTT. It's one of our favorite lunches anywhere (not just the MK). Great food, very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere (much more so than the Plaza) - makes a terrific break in the middle of a busy MK day.

Definitely LTT if you are on the Dining Plan. Plaza is very nice for something quick and less expensive, but I wouldn't burn a TS credit on it. LTT is well worth it. If you use it for dinner, you get characters as well.

LTT is great for lunch and a good use of a TS credit, we went there in February for the first time, and truly enjoyed it.

Thanks for the feedback. It sounds like everyone really likes LTT lunch. DH seems more nervous than me about the lack of food for my older DD (I am used to her eating sporadically so I am not so concerned). But I had read on a review on allearsnet that someone had gotten grilled cheese there, even though it is not on the kids menu. Is this a fluke or has anyone else managed this? If we could get grilled cheese, DH would feel better about it. JJ

You'd be limited to either the soup of the day or a side salad as an appetizer at the Plaza, and their only entrees are sandwiches or salads. You would definitely get more for your TS credit at the LTT ... it's one of our favorite places for a TS lunch.

They can generally make simpler things that aren't on the menu that they have ingredients for--I've always found Disney very accomodating, especially with kids. You shouldn't have a problem. And my vote is LTT--it's my fave table service in the MK.

LTT has grilled cheese and PBJ for kids. It is not listed on the kids menu but every server spiels it (or should) to start the meal. Additionally, LTT can sub french fries for any kids entree side item (in place of mashed potatoes, carrot chips, etc.). Note: LTT does not have a kids hamburger or chicken fingers available.

I too recommend LTT lunch, as the desserts are outstanding (pound cake and apple tart especially). For a dining plan meal, i recommend either soup or strawberry vinagrette salad for an adult appetizer, paired with either the Pot Roast, Pilgrims feast, or fresh from Harbour Salmon, with pound cake or apple tart dessert. For kids, the fruit plate appetizer is a generous size (apples, grapes, strawberry, and blueberries with yogurt dip) and you can do ice cream scoops or pound cake dippers for dessert.

Note: LTT no longer serves sweet tea or honey butter as of May 2006. They only have unsweetened tea, and new rolls have led to the demise of the honey butter.

I think it depends on where else you're eating, and what your plans for the day are!

We've chosen The Plaza for lunch on our Magic Kingdom day.

I made this decision because we wanted somewhere quick, so we can continue with our action-packed Magic Kingdom adventures!

We also chose The Plaza because I imagine I won't want to be walking around all afternoon with a big full belly. And because we also have a dinner reservation at Boma that night, so we want to save some room!

So if you're looking for something quicker and lighter, I'd say, choose The Plaza! It looks very pretty, too!
