Plaza Inn lunch/dinner

My picky eater loves Plaza Inn's chicken. I prefer green beans to the carrots...I think next time they have carrots I'm just going to substitute them for smashed potatoes...not the healthiest choice, but the carrots were to sweet for me...

It's not just that the chicken is delicious, which it is, it's the whole experience. We like to sit in the atrium and watch all the goings-on on Main Street. It's generally a lot more quiet in there and a great chance to just relax. Also, take in the building itself. It's the only area of the park designed by Lillian Disney herself.

I just ate there today! I always get items a la carte because the meals are huge and expensive. I get a breast piece, mashed potatoes and a drink for $11 with my AP discount!

We were not fans of the plaza inn fried chicken. We thought it was just ok. I've had better fried chicken from our local grocery store.

Yeah, me too. Reading through this thread I began to doubt my sanity, how could I NOT like it?? I don't like the Dole Whip either though or churros.

I really enjoy their fried chix. Not the best I've had but up there. The recently changed back to green beans which I usually love, but they were rubbery so I would sub next time. The carrots were better, but not amazing.

I also like crispy chix so I ask for my chix on a separate plate. I don't like the food mixing and the gravy getting my chix wet. Mashed potatoes are very good and the gravy too.

In my opinion, he biscuit isn't great though. I don't usually touch it.

Haha. We didn't like the dole whip much either. And didn't try the churro for the recent trip.

Every Disney trip we have taken since I was a kid we always made it a point to eat at the plaza inn for the chicken! Even now that I go as an adult it's still a must do for us. Plus it's a great place to sit, relax, and great place to sit and watch the surroundings in the park.

I'm one of the few dissenters here. We tried it on our first trip in 2014 after seeing all the rave reviews. There was nothing wrong with it, but it was just plain, bland food. It was fine, but I'm not going to specifically seek it out, especially when there are so many other things we want to try at DLR. The next time we found ourselves at the Plaza Inn we had pasta and were happier with that.

That said, with so many people loving the chicken, I wouldn't tell you not to get it. Statistically it seems likely that you'll love it.
