We are potentially eating at the Plaza Inn for the first time (after going to DL for 8 years!) and was looking at the desserts. The strawberry shortcake looks yummy! Does anyone know if its available during Thanksgiving? From what I've read, some say its seasonal but can't find a definitive answer. Desserts are helping to narrow between River belle terrace and Plaza Inn. Both places we have never tried.

I can't say for sure, but I do think it's seasonal. I took a quick look through some old photos from early December and while I don't have photos of all the desserts from the Plaza Inn, I didn't see a strawberry shortcake in any of them (not even in the background). That's not to say that it might not be there, but the Plaza Inn does rotate their dessert offerings to match the season, so it wouldn't surprise me if the shortcake wasn't available in the fall.

Strawberry shortcake will not be available in the fall. You'll likely see some kind of chocolate or carrot cake, a pumpkin cheesecake, and an apple pie type option.

I want to say that they also have a Yule log (chocolate cake) around the holidays too.

thanks for the replies! That's what I was thinking but was still hoping. The desserts still sound better than what is offered at River Belle though.

The strawberry shortcake is nothing short of amazing and I scooped it up last weekend and no regets haha. It is the best and highly recommend getting it while it lasts !

The strawberry shortcake is awesome but I've only see it available in the summer.

Are any of these really good and worth getting if we're having a meal there as opposed to a dessert elsewhere?

They are okay. Honestly, the best desserts are at Jolly Holiday bakery, hands down. I wouldn't base my meal decisions on dessert options. None of the desserts at the restaurants are "amazing."

BTW, I vote for Plaza Inn over RBT. Just get dessert at Jolly Holiday...it's right across the street!

Oh yeah, we're definitely going to Jolly Holiday! I need to try the Matterhorn Macaroon at least! Thanks.

That's what I'm thinking...we may be full from dinner and need a break before dessert! :)
