We are off to DLP on 24 March - it has come round so fast!! Just booked the caharacter birthday tea party for the Wednesday we are there at 5pm (they offered me 3.00 or 5.00). DD has just celebrated her 5th birthday and DS is 3 just after we return so we said that we wanted to cenebrate both thier birthdays. Does anyone know how much the total cost for this will be for DD, DS, OH and myself? Do we all pay the birthday party rate (is that still 18E) or do we pay this rate for DD and DS and OH and I pay the normal rate - I am a bit confused?? In fact - DS will still be 2 when we eat there so technically he is free in buffet restaurants but dont know if we will get him in for free as we are celebrating his 3rd birthday??

I have made a reservation - is it still best to go the day before and ask to pay in advance so that I dont have to queue up to pay on the day?

Will DD and DS get a birthday surprise each?

Finally - any other tips for maximising the character interaction?

Thanks
xxxxx

We prebooked and paid on arrival in Jan. The rest of the table went and sat down whilst I went off to make the payment. Am not sure if I could have paid in advance as they appeared to have a list of guests expected that day and were ticking people off. Those having the birthday parties appeared to be sat nearer to the buffet (we were sat in the conservatory bit) and got a cake and a plush Mickey.

We celebrated our son's birthday there and we all (6 of us) had to pay the 18Euro rate.

You cannot pre pay anywhere in the park for any meal I believe. We had a 5pm seating also and we had to queue as others were also waiting with reservations for the same time.

If you are going to celebrate your son's 3rd birthday then they may make you pay for him to get the Mickey but maybe you will get lucky and they'll give him one anyway. It will all depend on who is there that day and what they say. Make sure you do remind them you are celebrating a birthday when you check in. When we got there they only had us down for the tea and not the birthday one. After explaining to the hostess we booked it specifically for our son's birthday they corrected our slip, charged us the 18 euro instead of the 13 euro and he received his cake and toy.

It was really worth it. We thought there would only be sweets but there were also potatoes and omlets and other choices besides only sweets. This was in Dec. 2007. There were also lots of characters (some we hadn't seen before) and he even got a birthday card there that we had the characters sign. (Gepetto, Windell, Pluto, J. Radcliff, Mr. Smee, Friar Tuck, Sherif, Tigger)

*side note- if you haven't booked Cafe Mickey's I would highly recommend that also. We had breakfast there earlier the same day and saw Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, Scrooge, Tigger, Pluto, Chip & Dale.

Good luck and have fun!
