Plaza Breakfast?

Have you done The Plaza for breakfast and if so what did you think? I have an 8am reservation there in February. I'm looking for a Main Street, vintage WDW feel for something -- I cancelled CP because it was just going to cost too much and my kids aren't really huge eaters. I thought maybe this could be a good alternative. Your thoughts? Several things sound good to me on the menu like the eggs benedict and fried green tomatoes. My kids would probably go for waffles, eggs and bacon type stuff. Decent quality or not worth the extra effort of getting there at 8am? It's either this or I cancel it and do a lunch somewhere in MK instead.

Haven't been there yet, but we are planning to, if they still have it in July.

Where would you have breakfast if you cancelled the Plaza? If you don't eat at the Plaza, what time would you plan on arriving at MK? Just wondering how much time/money you'd be saving with the alternate plan.

Where would you have lunch that day, if you ate breakfast at the Plaza? Where would you have lunch if you don't?

MK at 8 am is not going to be empty. Not only do they have all the PPO folks coming in, but they also open it to the GP to start lining up down at the castle.

In terms of touring plan, if you eat at the Plaza, you won't be in the front of the line for SDMT. Peter Pan would still be doable with a moderate wait (10-15 min maybe?). Any other ride would still be walk on.

We would just eat breakfast in the room (we typically pack granola bars, cereal, yogurt etc) or at the resort food court.

The day I have this scheduled for is our second MK day. So the first day we have FP for SDMT, Splash and Thunder and plan to rope drop. Then for this second MK day I have FP for Peter, Pirates and Tales with Belle. So I'm not extremely concerned about crowds ahead of us - I just haven't eaten on Main Street since I was a kid.

So timing isn't a huge deal, I like earlier because my kids are early risers, but mostly I'm just wondering if the food is any good, if the ambience is ok and all that good stuff.

There's a few reviews out there from various blogs and they were all favorable! We're planning on trying it on our trip next month!

I found a blog post from Disney Food Blog from just the other day and it looks like it will be good to try. Has the sort of atmosphere I was looking for to start the day and the eggs Benedict looks good, and plenty there for my kids to eat - and the bill will be much less than the 155 CP was going to cost. Now to decide if we take a Minnie Van to get there or the bus...!

We just dined there in Sunday. There is no benefit to a ppo meal there other than you should be done just prior rope drop, but this meal was among our favorites. The food was delicious and the cost reasonable.

I just booked it for our trip in April, I think the menu looks great for breakfast. DH & I are actually planning on hitting there for breakfast then leaving & heading over to Ft Wilderness to check out the resort, horses, rent bikes, etc. I know it's a bit of a weird way to go about it but hey, it's vacation!
