try Toys R Us, when I looking they had the best deals on console and bundles of games, with half price memory cards and a racing game with peddles and steering wheel included
Santa brought DS an X-box last year and it's definitely his most prized possession. Have you thought about a game cube. I noticed when I was out shopping that they're being sold for something like $150 this year. That's down over $100 from last year.
With the X-box and PSII you can use them as DVDs as well.
Dixons are doing one for £218 including two games. Not too sure whether this is a good deal. Depends on whether you like the games offered or not.
DS (11yrs) wants one as well and we're keeping an eye out as well so will watch this space with interest.
www.johnlewis.com are doing the machine for £168 with just a single controller. They're a good online company to deal with as well. I bought a printer from them a while ago and they were a breeze to deal with.
Have a look on Ebay I reckon around £300 will get you a console and at least 10 games as long as its ex or mint condition it will be ok,Ive had some mega bargains there cds for £3 dvds for £5!!
Thanks everyone for great suggestions - I got one today. I went to Curry's after checking out all the online people for prices etc. and I got a PS2 with one handset and a choice of one game for £189.00 I chose the Fifa 03 football game, but when they come to pack it all up they never had that one so they talked me into This Is Football 03 instead. My son assures me that it is a top notch game - if not better than Fifa 03 - and because I was waiting so long in the shop whilst they looked for the game etc - I asked about a Memory Card which is £28 on top - and they gave me that free so I am well pleased with my purchases!
All I want to get now is Medal of Honor for him and that is DH sorted for the next six months!
Thanks for all the help and ideas - worked a treat.
