If you're a member of Walmart+ it goes live in 8 minutes for PS5 restock. We've been trying for over a year to get one for Oldest. We'll see how that works out in a few.

My friend's been trying to get oen for forever, but he hasn't had any luck. I do have another friend with one, and he is the only one I know who did. Never pay scalper prices!

Yep, I'm about there - we already decided to skip PS5 this Xmas, and wait another year. The PS4 games we are getting are the "upgradable to PS5" ones, so no "loss"...

PS6 should be ps5 compatible, plus older games will probably be digitally downloaded from the PlayStation store anyway.

Thats not going to last forever. At some point the PS4 will stop getting games and everything will be PS5 exclusive. We're only a year into that coming out.

But than they just go onto a digital format anyway. PS6 will probably come out in 2026.

So my son tells me today he'd like a PS5 for Christmas and my mind went back to when I saw this thread. I told him to start thinking of some other ideas.

Anybody have a line of one of these any time recently?

We managed to get one through Walmart at Thanksgiving, and it somehow still cost $1100. Maybe third party selling through Walmart? Except it shipped from Walmart in a Walmart box. Word of warning if you do buy one through Walmart to ship, they ship using OnTrac, which is a NIGHTMARE shipping company IME.

I’d ask him for other ideas. I have friends who still have IOUs to their kids from last year. My DS the gamer in the family says he might score a PS5 when PS6 comes out.

Thanks for the reply. I already told him it was not happening and I need more ideas. I just figured I'd scope it out to see if anything had changed (unlikely as that is).
