Playlist Schmaylist --- I'M GOING BACK TO DISNEY!!!!

I'm seriously not tormenting you, Karen.....I'm just in mourning right now. Victoria told me she never wants to go back to Disney. I'm heartbroken and crushed! I'll just have to find someone to travel with from now on. It really sucks!

As for Playlist, I had to send them an email as the girls didn't get to use their line passes which were $50 per person. This is the response I received, "Hi Ann Marie,

I'm so sorry that you had a bad experience this weekend. I am going to work to make this right for you, I can promise you that.

I'll start by saying I will absolutely refund your line pass, I'm very sorry for any hassle all of this has caused you. I also wanted to give you a more thorough reply back.

We worked really hard to make some serious changes to our event compared to prior years. Here are some of them, just so you can get a better idea of how we intended to keep everyone entertained and take a lot more from the event than just meet-ups/signings:

1. We brought more talent to participate in all aspects of the event (community panels, business panels, stage performances, dance parties, meet-ups/signings)

2. We expanded the meet-up/signing spaces available by adding a massive air conditioned tent and acquiring two additional ballrooms around the hotel

3. We added a full-scale stage to the Expo Hall that was busy all day with entertainment and panels

4. We added breakout room programming throughout the weekend for general attendees to learn about the industry of online video

5. We added a ton of business day panels on Friday, Saturday & Sunday to create even more interesting activities

6. We added a weekend-long pool party that took place at the resort pool

7. We even built an entire outdoor festival area complete with all-day entertainment, food trucks, bounce houses & more!

8. We tripled both the security staff and line control staff from last year

9. We worked hard with talent and their management to increase the maximum length of meet-up/signings to fit in as many people as possible.

Regardless of the additions we made, I know there was definitely room for improvement to help make everyone's experience more enjoyable, less stressful and better in general.

You spent hard-earned money to come to this event and the last thing I want is for attendees to have a bad time. Here are a few separate options I can offer you, and it's completely your choice to pick a fair resolution:

1. If you bought a line pass, I can refund that right away at your request

2. If you give me your ticket order number and shirt size for the attendees who experienced problems, I can have my team put together a YouTuber merchandise care package and have it shipped out to you completely free

To keep everyone safe on Sunday, we doubled security and throttled the speed at which attendees could enter the convention area. This helped prevent running and messy lines, but led to disappointed fans when a meet-up/signing for a few hours later was fully maxed out within a few minutes.

We try to make it clear to all attendees that it is physically impossible for them to meet everyone they want to see, and many fans share the same favorites, which makes it tough for the fans, the YouTubers and us, but we will use your feedback to set those expectations more clearly in the future.

All of that being said, our goal is to provide the best experience for everyone. That's why we started this event, and why I'm sending you this email.

I really would appreciate it if you could take a couple minutes and reply with advice/tips you think could improve our next event.

In the future we're making serious additional changes that take into account the massive increase in draw to specific meet-ups/signings to prevent the issues we had this year.

Please reply and let me which solution you think is fair and I'll work to get it moving as quickly as possible.

I appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us because it gives me a chance to fix it.

Thanks so much,

Jared

So, go ahead and ask your questions and I will answer!!!

Oh no... I'm so sorry Ann.... :(

No more Disney.. that makes me sad...

I think the only solution is to take up running and join PHM weekend. Right Karen? :thumbsup2

And whatever that email is about (I'm unfamiliar with Playlist Live) it sounds like stuff went wrong. And that is never good on vacation.

Hugs- those are hard pills to swallow when returning back to dreary everyday winter/spring life..........

I was sooooo worried about PLL! Savannah & I were following tweets, pics, and reports and I was hoping you guys still got to see some people. I thought for sure since you had the line passes that you would have been ahead of others?!?!? That is the first thing they should change. If people are going to pay an extra $50, they need to be in the front of the line!

I'm worried about next year, I hope you take the time when you are feeling up to it to give them some good tips. Will you still go back next year? I'm impressed with the email they sent and that they are actually looking for tips. They are going to have to sell less tickets and put a cap on stuff I think. :scared:

I'm so sorry about Victoria not wanting to go back to Disney. WHY?!?!? Was it really busy b/c of Spring Break?

and I hope you still do a trip report! Maybe she will change her mind after a while when she misses it and sees the pics?!!! :sad1:

Oh, it makes me incredibly sad Nicole. I wish I could take up running, but I don't think the arthritis in my knee and the gout in my toe (and let's face it --- the lack of desire) wouldn't let me. I can do the cupcake portion of the trip, though!!! :thumbsup2

Playlist is the convention of YouTubers that we've gone to for the past 2 years. It's where fans get to meet the people that make the videos. Last year it was awesome and the girls got to meet everyone they wanted. This year there was just way too many tickets sold and they didn't get to see some of the people they wanted to. They also had the Youtubers held up in Tower 3 with security and unless you were staying in Tower 3, you couldn't get in or even hang around the entrance. There was definitely a feeling of disconnect this year whereas last year you could visit with anyone just walking around. You could even be the in elevator with the Youtubers, but not this year..It was just too big and didn't have the wonderful feeling of last year.

I can tell you Karen that they are holding the event at the Orange County Civic Center next year as it's gotten so big. Not sure which hotels will be partnered with the event, but the Caribe is pretty far from the convention center. Rumor also has it that it will not be held in March, but they didn't say when it would be held. Tips? Wow, well the line passes didn't work, but they are willing to work with us on that which I'm pretty impressed with that. I just think, again, that they sold too many tickets for the event. I don't know if we will be going to it next year. I was pretty disappointed in Victoria's behavior and her overall lack of respect for my feelings. I was more than willing to enjoy her portion of the trip and I expected her to treat me with the same consideration but that didn't happen. I am sooooo ready to take that freaking cell phone away from her. Do you think she watched the fireworks at the party? Oh no....she was on that darned phone. At least I had Kali to enjoy things with because I was about ready to kill my own child. She knew going into this that without fast passes the waits would be long! If a line was over 40 minutes she wasn't going to wait in it or whine the entire time she was in one. She sat out on a couple of rides due to this while Kali and I went on them. And for what? That darned phone!! Really? So, you are going to do nothing while in Disney because of a line? wow! Pretty stupid and selfish if you ask me. Lines can be fun talking to the people around you!

I'm honestly not sure if I will be doing a trip report. It would be so negative that I don't want to make anyone read that. I did post all the pics (even the ones with Vic's hand over her face which are a lot!) to Facebook so you guys could at least see some pictures. I'm still going to scrapbook the trip so I will have to get pics from Victoria of the actual convention to add. And no, they did not get a chance to meet Tyler this year. His line filled up way too quickly and like I said, the Line Passes weren't honored. We didn't even see him hanging around like we did last year. The fan girls were nuts!! No wonder the YouTubers didn't want to hang out. I honestly doubt Victoria would go back even after seeing the pictures. I'm just really upset. Oh and yay me.....I got a cold now and am home sick. Kali and I had gone to DTD on the last day (that's right ---- Victoria opted to stay at POP and be on the internet) and got caught in the torrential rain and thunderstorm. I didn't realize we were under a tornado warning until we got on the Magical Express and had to wait as the Orlando airport was actually closed so we had to park on the side of the road for a while until we were let onto the airport property. So, both Kali and I were soaked (no I didn't bring ponchos for a quick trip to DTD). Once I was soaked, I got on an air conditioned bus and I'm sure that's why I caught a cold. Brrrrrr!

Ugh, I'm so sorry Ann. I hope you can find some way to find the good things in the trip and keep those as your memories!

It was pretty clear from the reports that they overbooked. I don't know why they can't just put a cap on how many people, I think going to the convention center will just add to the masses, and clearly there are too many people for how many youtubers there are.

We're really bummed they are moving it and even more bummed that everything seems up in the air. We were so excited and I had booked next March already at Caribe. Having it at a convention center that we have to travel to each day sucks. :(

I'm glad that at least last year you guys got to go before it got crazy. I suspect eventually the youtubers won't want to do it anymore if the fans are acting so crazy.

Oh Ann. :worried:

I'm so, so sorry your trip didn't turn out as expected.

I was wondering if Victoria was giving you attitude based on some of the pictures & I did notice her phone in many pictures.....

I am sorry she didn't participate in many activities but I'm glad at least you had Kali to join your fun. She looked like she was having a blast- always smiling and posing! So at least this trip was good for HER and that's a positive, right?

 I don't want my girls to grow up and get that teeny attitude! I know my Sarah will give me a run for my money....

I hope, in time, the negative of the trip is erased and the positive memories of the trip emerge. Based on your pictures, I DID see positive memories & smiles!

Hi, Ann! I am sorry to hear that you didn’t have the best time at Playlist and that Victoria was not interested in Disney. It’s too bad that she doesn’t want to go again! Well, I hope that you can find someone to go with one day.

I completely agree that the crowds were out of control at Playlist! I am trying to find time to write up a TR, so I don’t want to give too much away, but I know what you are talking about with the crazy fangirls! They were going nuts! Running around and screaming! Coy was fed up with them by Sunday and rolled his eyes every time he heard a girl scream! :lmao:

Teenagers! Ugh! Well, Coy didn’t give me any attitude on the trip, but he was at True’s throat a few times! He also didn’t join us at the pool any time that True and I went! He opted to be online, just like Victoria, so I feel your pain. We’re on vacation! In Disney! Sure, it’s a nice room, but why be cooped up in there when there is a pool right outside???

I am glad that you and Kali enjoyed yourselves, though! I’m sure the scrapbook will help you to relive all of the good memories of the trip :goodvibes And I am so glad we finally met!
