do know that batch of codes is coming up invalid now when u try & book anew

it is my understanding (via my Emerald Master Contract) that no shows on ressies booked under that program/your member number; will be charged 1 day to the CC on file...cannot say if true as i've never not cancelled either National or Alamo, since i tie in ressies to my account #s .

While the code may have no issue being used--the issue will be if there is an accident and you can't prove affiliation with the code...just a thought!

I have a question about this back up reservation that people ask about. If you are Emerald Club, you just get your car and drive out. You don't find out whether you have a problem until you are at the check out shack. What do you do if they ask for ID that you don't have? Turn around and put the car back?

Yes, they get the cars behind you to back up and they back you up. Be prepared for UGLY looks from everyone behind you.

The myth on here seems to be that since National took the reservation you are clear.... that's not the way it works.

I expect that MOST people will not get caught, but if you do I expect it to be costly.

We have ME booked for our trip but was wanting to rent a car. I booked using the 67 code. I was thinking if we have problems when we get the car that we can just go back in the airport and catch the ME bus. Of course we would be getting our own luggage. Would this be doable? I didn't know if there was a problem with booking ME and then not showing up. Again we would be taking our luggage with us. Thanks!

Yes you can do this. You would have to bring your ME vouchers to the check in desk...and the bus driver will have to load your luggage under the ME bus.

One other suggestion. Don't leave TWO reservations on the same rental car company for somewhat close to the same day. This IS the voice of expereince. They will screw it up and you WILL get charged the highest one (Been there, done that, got the t-shirt! LOL!)

Find your airport and see if anything is offered. MCO is almost always offered.

I wish this were still true. I've done this for past trips, but MCO has not been offered on two of the last three weeks.
