Playing at being a photographer

Today, after work, I decided to stop at the Food and Wine Festival for the evening. My boyfriend has a major photography hobby and is trying to get me into it too, so in between plates of food, I decided to try my hand at some artistic photography.

Your pictures are great. I was wondering, from your comment about the picture of Belle not being you, do you play Belle in Beauty and the Beast at HS?

I especially love your first picture. I am an architect and we took photography in college. We were taught how to set up good architectural pictures and you nailed it.

It is all about setting up the picture to get your eye to follow it around the picture. In yours, you got the closest building on your left and it follows around to the buildings behind it - it allows your eye to look across the picture and wonder what is around the next corner!

You have some pretty good shots here. I really like that one with the Tokyo Food & Wine Fest sign. The composition is excellent!!!!!! If you really want to start getting into photography a little more, you should visit the Photography Boards on this site. There are a lot of great people, with tremendous talent. You can definitely learn a lot.
