Hi Everyone,
My husband and I just bought DVC in February and then found out we are having a baby in October, so my brother and his family are going to be using most of our points this year. When they go to Disney, his daughter will be almost 2 1/2. Which resorts have the best playgrounds and other offerings for a child this age? Thanks so much! I can't believe we aren't going to be able to go our first year! :sad2: I just can't think about traveling with an infant and a 2 year old!

All the DVC resorts have very nice areas for children and toddlers. Most have sand and wading areas as well as swings (OKW anyway), and waterslides for older kids.

I forgot to add that they will be going in January so they may or may not be using the pools, depending on weather. Do the playgrounds have swings, slides, etc? Thanks! I know they can't go wrong, but I want them to have the best experience possible (I am hoping to convince them to buy DVC so we can all go together! :) )

Not sure about the others, but OKW has swing sets at each of the quiet pools.

Adding to what's been said, BWV has a play area down by the pool. SSR does too, by the quiet pools.

We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge Inn (not villas) last trip, and past the pools on the beach there was a little play structure with a slide (can't remember if it had a swing). Nothing special, but it was a nice place to bring DD2.5 after a dip in the kiddy pool.

Actually, her favorite activity was the daily "Arts and Crafts" they did at the place where older kids can be babysat. We would get back from a morning in the parks, catch lunch, bring her to Arts and Crafts, and then she'd go down for her nap.

Here's a photo of the playground at SSR courtesy of allearsnet.com:

I was impressed with the manner in which they built the structure to fit into the theme of the resort. :)

SSR does not have a dedicated children's pool, rather the main pool has a zero-entry wading area. It also has a small 3-4' slide for young children, and the hot springs fountain area.

I have some pictures on my computer - but I can't seem to make them appear here.

I will try later to put them on yahoo and then post the link.
