Platinum Passport Benefits

If I have a platinum passport, do I get all "platinum" benefits, or only those at my "home park"? I have a platinum passport that was obtained at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

The reason I am asking is that on the SeaWorld Orlando website, I am able to login as a passport member, and on the page highlighting the platinum benefits, it says:

"Enjoy these "home park" benefits at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Seaworld Orlando and Adventure Island only:

Reserved seating at all shows at SeaWorld Orlando (must arrive 15 minutes prior to show time, reserved seating is limited)

Free Skytower rides at SeaWorld Orlando (subject to availability)

"Ride Again" privielges at Wild Arctic, Kraken and Journey to Atlantis at SeaWorld Orlando"

Since my "home park" is Williamsburg, does that mean that I can't take advantage of these "perks", or does having a platinum passport from any of the parks give me these perks?

A few years ago, we went to Tampa and we had a platinum passport, and it seemed like each place we went, there was a different "rule" on what we could get as perks. Merchandise gave us 40% off one time, another place only gave 10% off, and then at the sit-down restaurant, we were told we could not get the 10% off food, but all the other food vendors took the discount off..... It was one of the first years that they did the 2-year platinum passport, so maybe it was just confusion on what it was. A couple of times, the employees told us they had never heard of a "platinum" passport and went to get a manager.

Just curious if anyone has been able to take advantage of these SeaWorld platinum perks when there passport was obtained at another location.

And if anyone has any info on where the reserved seats are located for each of the shows, and if they are "good" seats, or if its better to just get there early and get "good" seats without using the passport perk.....

Thanks in advance.

this is the most definitive thing I can find:

Busch Gardens Williamsburg & Water Country USA Platinum Plus members receive the following benefits:

# UNLIMITED Two-year admission to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Water Country USA, SeaWorld of Orlando, San Diego, San Antonio, Busch Gardens & Adventure Island in Tampa and Sesame Place in Langhorne, PA
# FREE General parking to all Anheuser-Busch Adventure Parks listed
# 10 % savings at select merchandise shops and restaurants at all Anheuser-Busch Adventure Parks

it looks like the additional perks are just available at your home park. here in Florida BG, SW, and Adventure Island are all treated as your home park and you get the additional perks at SW and BG. so if we visit BGW, we'd get the basic discounts, not the extras like the free preferred parking, etc.

At Sea World Orlando, the best seats at each venue are roped off for Passport members so I would definitely use that perk and save yourself the extra time of getting there early to grab a seat. I didn't see any preferred seating in the Splash Zone seats at Shamu Stadium, so I'm not sure about that.

We are Platinum Passport members at the Florida parks, but when we visited Williamsburg last 4th of July weekend we were given free preferred parking both days we went to the park. I don't know about other discounts because due to problem with a new ride - everyone waiting on line was given bottled water and 30% discount food vouchers, so we never asked about dining disc. for passholders.

Don't know if this is always done if pref. parking isn't full, it is unique to Florida Plat. Passports becuase they are more expensive, or a perk for all platinum members no matter which park they belong to. I do know that they did check my pass at both Williamsburg and Florida - not just a wave through.

My home park for my platinum pass is also BGW. I have used my platinum passes at Sesame Place and was given free preferred parking and discounts on food purchases. My friend who also has platinum pass from BGW just returned from using her passes at SeaWorld in Orlando and she was allowed to take advantage of special seating at the shows. I will be heading to BG Tampa and Sea World at the end of July, first of August so I will find out first hand then.

Thanks, let me know how it works out for you. I am hoping that BGW platinum gives us the same perks, that would be very cool. I am going to Orlando in mid-August.

gcphil,
I have the platinum pass for BGW also. Do you live near BGW? If so, did you drive the Sesame Place? How long did it take? Was it worth the drive? Just curious because I have a 2 year old who loves Elmo. I also have a 6 year old.
Thanks for any info

I have a Platinum for Seaworld Orlando. I've gotten the 10% discount at all the parks. Also, got free preferred parking at BG Williamsburg, BG Tampa, and SeaWorld Orlando. Got free regular parking at SW San Antonio and SW San Diego.

Edit to add:
Sesame Place is a very small park. The rides are generally kiddie rides, and the shows are mostly kiddie shows. It's also partly (actually mostly) a water park, and that's where most of the attractions for adults would be found.
As an adult, I only stopped because I was so close (and had the platinum pass), and only stayed a few hours. But the little kids seemed to love it.

Yes, I live in Poquoson which is near Hampton. Yes, we did drive to Sesame Place. We actually stayed in Philly as I have friends there and we drove to Sesame two separate days. From here to Philly was approx. 5-6 hour drive. From Philly to Sesame took less than an hour maybe around 30-45 minutes. Your 2 year old and 6 year old should love it. As a previous poster mentioned it is geared for young children. I took my 6 year old boy and 8 year old girl and they really enjoyed it. We went with my friends who had a 5 year old, 3 year old, and 1 year old. The shows are cute and some even include child volunteers. My daughter participated in two shows. We went on a Thursday and Friday in July. I understand that the weekends can get extremely busy!! When we went it was quite pleasant, not too busy!!

Hope this helps!

I got my Platinum pass at Sea World Orlando and both times i've visited Busch Gardens Williamsburg as well as every other AB park we get free parking, discounts on food, merchandise, etc..

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

BGW does not have ride again or preferred seating. They act like they nevered heard of it. Been there about 3 times this year. But you still get discounts on food and merchandise and preferred parking. (atleast all the times we went)

Home park BGT and was able to use perks a SWO in regards to seating beware make sure you have your platinum passports handy when sitting in reserved section because they will check them (at least for SHamu)they did tell people they had to move because it was for platinum members only.

Thinking of purchasing the Platinum pass, how much of a discount do you get for the dinner shows?

I believe the platinum gets 30% on all food and merchandise... not sure but i thought it was the same discount as the employee Family and Friends pass... just with ride again and free prefered parking at most parks...

BGW doesn't have ride again, but allows you in for their Howl O Scream I believe if you have the pass, not just for one specific day either...
