Will they allow you to carry these on? Will they still charge you a corking fee if you don't take it to dinner and want to just have a glass of wine in your cabin at night after dinner??

TIA!

Not sure what a plastic wine corker is, but if you drink the wine you bring onboard in your room, there's no corkage fee. Corkage fee is only applied if you take your bottle of wine into the dining room and they pour for you.

Thanks! I was guessing they prob won't let me bring on my wine opener if it contained metal so I'm shopping for a plastic one. We usually order the wine package at dinner and have had that in our room after BUT that's cause we normally carry on beer and a bottle of crown. Now I'm a little salty and while yes I will still carry on beer I will carry on my wine as well and NOT order their wine at dinner. :) May be petty but I'm still ticked that they didn't even give me the option to decide to go or not as I was PIF customer when they changed the policy. Anywho...thanks for the reply!

You can bring metal onboard. I have brought a metal wine opener onboard with no problem in my carryon. It is not like the airlines.

Room service will bring you a corkscrew to use in your room. I just called and asked for some cookies and a corkscrew.

Can you bring your own wine into dinner / cork and pour yourself? What about then? Corking fee still applied or not?

Corkage fees have nothing to do with the actually opening or closing of wine bottles. It's just what they call the fee for bringing your own bottle to a dining room.

Yes it applies even if you open it and take it with you.

Figured such! I saw one place where a person stated that they opened it themselves and were not charged but everywhere else I looked said it was for sure a fee so I did want to be clear on that one. Thank you!

Sometimes, the servers do not charge the corkage fee on bottles brought to the MDR. It's random and a little "pixie dust" when that happens. But not that often.

On recent cruises on another cruise line, I have been charged the corkage about 70% of time. It is random. But I'm not sure what to call it, since only Disney has "pixie dust". :scratchin
