Hi,
Went to The Disney Store today to buy our Park Hoppers, and was pleasantly surprised to find out that they are plastic (not as firm as a credit card, but kind of like any type of gift card would be).
They were on a display rack, and just need to be validated when rung up at the register. I was dumb enough to ask if it was some sort of voucher that had to be validated again somewhere at WDW, like an AP, but in fact, these are the real deal.
Another nice thing is that the Passes can be tracked, and refunded if need be, if the Passes are lost or stolen. Just need the receipt of purchase. (I would assume that the other ones can too, right?)
The CM said that they've been like that for a couple of years, but the ones we purchased last year at WDW were the 'paper' kind.
Just curious, but how long has it been since the switch from the paper to plastic?
