Has anyone heard what the plans are for the YOMD apartment after the end of the year when the YOMD promotion ends? Someone mentioned to me that they had heard it was eventually going to be made available to the public to book (although for a very large price). !?!?!?!? I wasn't really sure about the idea, and didn't really take it to be true, but I thought that I would see if anyone else had heard rumblings of what was to become of the apartment.

I personally, would love the opportunity to stay in the park for a night, even though I know I won't be dreamed the opportunity since we aren't returning until next spring. :(

Personally, I would love to see it turned back into the Disney Gallery! I miss the Gallery so much. I loved going up there and sitting in the little patio area. It was such a peaceful place to get away from all the crowds and just relax for a little while. I think it's so sad that they took away a place that so many people could enjoy and turned it into a place that very few will ever see again.:(

Didn't they have some premium fantasmic seating up there? If thats the place open it back up.

They sure did... and I am SO mad with myself that we never did the premium seating for F! before... we'll never get to experience the shopw from the balcony now. :( I won't be complaining if we get awarded the Dream Suite this summer though... :thumbsup2 I HIGHLY doubt it, but we can hope... :goodvibes

I too think they should turn it back into the Disney Gallery after the YOAMD. Like Disneyluvr2 said, it was such a peaceful place to get away from the crowds - if only for a short while.

I think one rumor I read somewhere said they might use some of the extra space to expand Club 33. That would be just about right.... another way to keep the common folk from enjoying it.

Sad to say I never went into the gallery. It was on my to-do-list.

I also never got to sit in on the Fantasmic viewing. I had plans to make reservations for our trip but it closed about 2 weeks before our dates.

I do hope whatever they do they decide to make it back into something that more than just a few select people can enjoy.

personally, I would like them to continue a small part of a YOAMD and continue to award the Dream Suite on a random basis every day . . . .true magic if you get picked!

personally, i think they should continue it all they arent loseing money. I think ited be an extra thing to keep getting ppl to come. I have never been dreamed and wish i could go more. If they just continued it so many more ppl could have the chance, even those who only can go every few years. (hay just an idea)

Jade: I absolutely agree with you-=-it doesn't cost Disney much to do the Dream Fastpasses and character meet and greet dreams--I wish they would continue those as an extra added incentive to people! I know some people hate YOAMD but personally I like it.

Mark me down for really missing the gallery. We loved going up there and quietly looking at all the cool stuff they displayed up there. You know, everyone had the contemplative-arms-behind-your-back-looking-at-art stance....It was always so restful and the CMs up there were awesome to talk with.

We were luck enough to stay in the Dream Suite. I’d think they could get $5K to $10K +++ per night for it if they wanted to make money off it. It was a dream come true.

that's why I think they should keep awarding it as a "dream"--the common person won't be able to spend $5k to $10k a night to stay there--it will only be the very rich (or celebrities) who would get to stay there. If it continued to be a "dream" then everyone would have a chance that one day they would be in Disneyland and someone would tap them on the shoulder and say "have I got a prize for you!"

That is a great argument. I hope Disney is listening.

I'd be surprised to hear that they would tear it down. Seems like they went through a lot of trouble getting it built. Also it was Walt's dream (and even his original plans) for his apartment to be there, seems a shame to make it come to reality, only for a year.

I'd be good with them continuing to "dream" people with a stay there.

How does one even get dreamed to stay in the dream suite? is it similar to getting other dreams in the parks, and it's a timing thing? Right place, right time? has anyone on hese boards ever gotten to stay in the dream suite?

Another thing I think they could do is offer tours of it during the day. That would be cool. That way everyone could get to see it, even if they don't stay there.

:thumbsup2

We were luck enough to stay in the Dream Suite in March. Getting "dreamed" is completely random. It was outside of "Big Thunder Railroad" first thing in the morning. “Dreaming” for the Dream Suite is done in the morning because it is for a stay in the Dream Suite that same day. Plus, there is paperwork to fill out, and many fun activities in the afternoon and evening for the winner and their guests.

GreatDane, do you have any pictures of the Dream Suite that you could share with us? I would LOVE to see some~

I want them to continue with the Dreams too. It's so much fun to get a random gift to your family. We've never had the Dream Suite stay but we have had front row seating at Billy Hill (twice) and we have been given the Tink pins. I would love to get the Dream FP's and the Dream Suite but we haven't been that lucky yet. :) I think they should have a new promo but I hope they do continue to give out random dreams to lucky visitors.
