Planning Weddings for those Not-yet Engaged!

DBF and I have discussions on what we'll get our kids into. Like he wants them to be into Dragon Ball and that's a no-no for me. :rotfl:

Man, this thread is deader then dead. How are you ladies? How's your summer going so far?

My summer has been fairly boring so far. We celebrated DBF's 27th :scared1: birthday this past weekend by going out to dinner with some friends on Saturday and going to a small, crappy not-so-amusing amusement park. The only exciting thing I have coming up is that my parents and little sister are driving from Florida to here in August to visit me and give me a new (to me) car. :woohoo: I'm so excited to see them and get a new-ish car. I say new-ish because it's my mom's car. It's a 2005 dark gray Scion xA that we got brand new in 2004. It sure beats my little old 2002 Toyota Echo that has seen better days. :rotfl: I'm going to miss my car terribly through, it has been through everything with me and it's my first car. :worried: Buuut, I do love my mom's car. It's so sleek looking. :cool2:

Blah, my summer has been really boring also. DBF has been away at campus with his brother the last 2 weeks, so I've only been able to see him at weekends. The rest of the time I've been either home, shopping or going out with college friends. I can't wait to be in Oregon.

Hey guys, what's up? My summer is boring, all I have to do is work and school. I decided that I was too young to be thinking about marriage and weddings, so that's why I haven't been talking around here anymore. I want to get my college degree first. I figured that if I concentrate on getting married now, I might never get it. This, of course, upset Robert, so we broke up.

I'll still pop in to say hi now and again though. Like now lol. I just want to get my degree before I'm 24, and the rate I've gone in the past, that's going to require a lot of full schedules and dedication.

Hope you all are well!

Oh! And I got my first tattoo! Lol.

Hey everyone! I was just looking through this awesome site called TackyWeddings.com and I found this:

I guess I must be a geek because if DBF was into SW we would get this, haha

OMG!!! DBF told me last night that I can start planning our wedding.. even though I do not have a ring I told him I don't need a ring to start planning... I said I can start planning and he can give me the ring when he feels it is right... I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!!!!!!

How is everyone doing?

Hey everyone!! Those planning weddings....have fun :)

Been crazy busy on my end here, hope everyone is doing well :)

DBF and I basically act married, he calls me his fiance to strangers, and, I'm actually in no hurry to get hitched. I'd take a ring for engagement, but I have no desire to plan a wedding right now!! 4 kids will do that to a person. I'm exhausted!! LOL

Hey again... man I think the cleaning bug bit me.... I am cleaning like a crazt person.... well just so you all are up to date... I graduated almost a month ago with my Masters degre.. thats right NO MORE school for me... now I just sit and wait for DBF to propose so we can buy a house together...

haven't been around here for awhile, as I see most of us havent..
Just wanted to check in and say
I GOT A RING for Christmas EVE:)
It's GORGEOUS!!
We are already trying to make plans and I was TOTALLY shocked, and amazed at how into this he is.

Hope everyone is doing well :)

Congratulations!

I haven't been on this thread in awhile and probably won't be coming back. Aaron and I are planning to get married within the next two years. He has been subbing pretty much full time for sped and they have been telling him he should be a sped teacher. So I am helping him study to get his Sped certification. He takes the test in January. He has told me that as soon as he has a permanent job, we will make it official. He just wants something more stable than substituting. I have no doubt that after he has his sped certification he will be able to find a job. Sadly, social studies teachers just are not in demand right now.

It's fun to plan a wedding, but really, the more important thing is what comes next. We've been talking a lot about our future plans. I really just got ahead of myself when we started talking about the future, and am going to step back. We are going to the marriage prep which my old priest recommends for any serious couple as it is to help you discern whether or not marriage is right for you. I'm not really going to think about wedding stuff until it's time.

Anyway, have fun ladies. Your day will come, I'm sure.

I guess I'm missing the point of this thread...however, I'm hoping this is in the right place. The time has come for my gf of over a year and I to get married. At first she wanted to do just a JOP deal, which I was fine with...as this is number 2 for me but 1 for her.....but I wanted her to have a bit bigger wedding. Disney weddings are out of the question, but we both love the parks. Anyone have some inexpensive but fun ideas?

The point of this thread was for those of us who felt we were close to being engaged to discuss what we'd like for our weddings.

If you are looking for an inexpensive way to get married at Disney, I would check out Swan and Dolphin...they do weddings for around $2000. Besides going through Disney's Fairytale Weddings or Swan and Dolphin or a private restaurant (Fultons) there is no other way to get married at Disney.

If you are looking for fun honeymoon ideas, come check out the Disney Weddings and Honeymoon board :)
