Oddly enough, I only really like simple rings. All other jewelry is best when it is as loud and crazy as I am



I definitely woke up from that dream feeling very Carrie like, a little vomit in my mouth and all After I told DBF about the dream, he photoshopped his own version of the ring for me because he is a comedian like that. If only I wasn't at work I'd post it, it's hilarious and very scarily exact too.

I'm not one for big diamonds, or diamonds at all actually (I know, I'm probably some weird mutant strain of female who doesn't like diamonds), but I would love to at least try on one huge, ridiculous ring that only God himself could afford at least once, maybe to freak DBF out a little by telling him its "the one"

I really don't like big diamonds either...nothing set too high. I have skinny fingers (5 1/4) so anything too big looks silly.

I would love a yellow sapphire as an engagement ring.

Yeah, the $60k ring is something you have to do if you ever walk into a Tiffany's. It's quite an experience. I don't think I could ever wear something that expensive on a daily basis though!! I'd be waaaaay too afraid of losing it.

Call me traditional, but I definitely want my DBF's last name. I adore his family...it's only fitting I take his name, then I'm truly a part of the family. Also, I have a DD7 and the plan is to have an adoption just about completed at that time so on that day, she will have the same last name too and we'll truly be a family.

I've definitely thought about keeping my own last name, especially since I know that would mean so much to my dad (he only has 2 girls), but what would our kid's last names be? Our last names hyphenated would sound even worse

It's strange in the US (though we're kinda part of it...). Here we keep our last names after marriage and the kids have both last names, first the father's and then the mother's.

It's the same, when they have their own children the kids will have the father's last name first and the mother's last name second.

I kept my own name when I got married. DD has my name as her middle name and dh's name as her last name. That was actually traditional and fairly common years ago.

And as for the "name" debate, I'm definitely looking forward to taking my DBF's name. I am, however, dumping my middle name (which I loathe LOL) and replacing it with my maiden name so my name would be Maria My Last Name DBF's Last Name.

That's a good idea...either way my initials aren't changing, lol. Dbf has the same last name initial I do and that is also the same initial as my current middle name.
