Planning Weddings for those Not-yet Engaged!

Hi girls! I was afraid they had closed this thread because I saw another thread asking why they closed this one, but I guess it is still open? :confused3

I have a sort of random question: What do you typically wear to a wedding as a guest? My cousin is getting married in St. Louis on December 27, and the last wedding I was in was his sister's- when I was 17 and a bridesmaid, so I didn't have to owrry about what to wear, it was provided for me. I can't remember the venue, but I do know they have rooms blocked off at the Ritz Carlton, so it will probably be a fairly fancy wedding. Thanks!

Slightly Relevant story-- When I was married 17 years ago one of my flower girls was a 4 year old I had been babysitting for the last 2 years and was very close with her family. Long story short, we all ended up moving and kept in touch until about 4 years ago. I joined Facebook a few weeks ago and on a lark looked her up. I found her! And the best part? She is going to college 20 minutes away from where I am! She is half way across the country from her family. She has been just up the road the last 2 years and I had no idea! We got together today for the first time in 17 years. My sweet baby flower girl is all grown up into a young woman.

So anyone have ideas on their flower girl dresses? I had 2 flower girls and no ring bearers. We didn't know any little boys! But my flower girls were adorable. Oh, I had worked at a bridal shop for about a year and loved this flower girl dress they had and fortunately they still had it when I was getting married so of course, that was their dress.

Oh how nice! :goodvibes

My best friend will actually be my flower girl, she will be about 20 by the time I get married.:rotfl:
My ring bearer will probably be my youngest nephew.

Welcome back everyone! :thumbsup2

Usually depends on the wedding, how formal it is, but I would say a nice skirt or dress...and stear clear from black or white :rotfl:

I would like to say no flowergirls, but since dbf has 2 newphews and a neice he may have a different opinion. I am really not interested in a bridal party.

Welcome back ladies, now let's see some rings. I, for one, could never have too many.;)

Thank you Kathy, girls of all ages just wanna have fun.

Your a lovely bunch and I hope you have fun planning your future weddings:thumbsup2

By the time I got to planning dresses for the flower girls, I was exhausted. So I told my SIL to just put them in whatever she wanted and gave her a couple of parameters and just told her to have them match each other. I think she did really well.

Here are my flower girls and my ring bearer.

Awww....what a cute story! :flower3:

I see we are posting invitations now! LOL :) Here are the ones I'm in love with:

The outside of the pocketfold, except without the names on the front....I'm not a fan of wedding logos or monograms or just anything with our names all over the place lol:

The actual invite that will be pasted in the middle panel of the pocketfold (DBF loved these when we saw very similar ones at the Hallmark store):

And the way I want the inserts to be held in place...I got the idea from a DisBride:

And CaribbeanPrincess, my cousin had those invites for her engagement party! They are sooo cute, I love them  !

Hey! Sure! :welcome:

Any of you gals going to WDW soon? I will be there this December and I plan to look around the WP, I've never seen it up close! Wish my DBF could go, but unfortunately he can't due to school and his parents...

I won't be having invitations. The only ones who will be invited will get it straight from my mouth. Will just be a few people at my Vegas wedding.

Mandy - those green and pink invitations are beautiful!

I'm a bit late to the party, so I'll share both my favorite bouquets and invitations :thumbsup2

I love giant, solid bouquets of roses like these:

And I love big bouquets of chartreuse colored orchids, just couldn't find a good picture of them.

I really like the pocket style invitations, I just don't have a good picture of any I like

What kind of theme and/or colors do you guys like? (did I ask this already? I might have, or I may be losing my mind :rotfl: )

As for me....
Theme: I'm a huge fan of Alice and Wonderland and the 1930's/1940's/1950's, so I'd love to have a vintage themed/outdoor/black and white/evening tea party. Why yes I am trying to cram every idea I like into one

Colors: black and white, with one color accent used in the floral only (red, chartreuse, and orange are my top three picks)

Hopefully I can get my future fiance to love my crazy ideas :lmao:
