Well, since our thread is dead on the wedding boards, I decided to move this topic over here so that we don't disrupt the wedding planning.
Have fun! :goodvibes

Edited, with a message from WebmasterKathy:

Per our guidelines, arguments and fights don't belong on our boards. This is not a place to insult any other poster, or to drag up old arguments from the past or from other threads. This topic has been closed a couple of times already due to arguments, when this should be a fun and happy topic!

We are asking here that anyone who wants to contribute to this discussion do so in only positive ways.

Enjoy!

:thumbsup2

Now, let's discuss how we're going to "trap" and "con" our boyfriends into marrying us :rotfl:

I'm kidding. So now that we can be as off-topic as we like, let the party begin party:

:rotfl:

How utterly ridiculous and disrespectul where the posts?:sad2:

Anyway...back to planning. Dresses anyone?

lol..my oldest DD is doing that for me.. We've talked about it..and know we will eventually... but there has been so much more come up financially than buying that little ring... so...as of yet, 1 baby...1 on the way... a new home and a verbal commitment, just no rock or date..
LOL

Never been to the wedding boards.. but this one looks friendly anyhow :)
I know I want it at the beach... and I have a dress picked out...and I'd like yellow bridesmaid dresses... and my bachelorette party WAS going to be at Pleasure Island....looks like I waited to long to get hitched.. LOL
Anyone here wanna meet me at WDW for a pre-engagement party??? :dance3:

Weddings are expensive! Even non-Disney weddings (what I'm dreaming about) are pricey, so I can't blame you for waiting. Congratulations on the baby on the way though :goodvibes

Looks can be deceiving :rotfl:

A bachelorette party at PI would have been awesome. I'm still pretty bummed that it is closing this weekend :sad1: I'll join you in a pre-engagement party!

Yes, congrats! :goodvibes
True about expensive weddings. I've calculated it would be more expensive to have a wedding here than at WDW. The only problem I have is that the Escape weddings can only have 18 guests (including B&G) and our families are pretty big...

I'm eloping. Eventually.

An elopment (is that even a word?) sounds so romantic

16 years later, I wish I had eloped.

I don't think you could pay me enough money to plan another wedding.

Good luck to all of you.

Denae

If it weren't for the fact that I'm almost positive my whole family would kill me, I'd be down to elope. I'm the first daughter/granddaughter/niece so my eventual wedding will be a pretty big deal.

Thank you though for the well wishes :goodvibes

lol I had the big fancy wedding once before. I always said, my next marriage I'm eloping! ;)

thanks for the congrats :) a 7 month old and I'm due again in April... plus have 2 DDs from previous marriage, ages 12 and 8... I think they are more excited for us to have a wedding than we are.. lol
But...I never had a wedding my first 'trip to the courthouse'... so I wanna wait til I"m not pregnant anymore anyways... lol
and, I'm hoping to get off, relatively cheap...for a wedding anyways. Family and friends at a quiet beach, simple food and not alot of hoopla.
But...this pre-engagement party..... I'm allll for it.. LOL

I can't blame you for wanting to elope the second time around. I only plan on getting married once, but if for whatever reason that doesn't work out, I'm gonna say screw it and I'll be a crazy cat lady the rest of my life

Your welcome!
Wow, caring for a baby AND being pregnant AND having two other children at the same time?! Are you Wonder Woman?! I'm in awe of your super mom abilities :worship:

My parents did the courthouse thing and I know that my mom wishes she had done a whole big to-do with a ceremony and reception. I can't blame your DDs for being excited for you guys, if I were in their shoes I'd be thrilled too

So, since PI is closing, I'm thinking Jellyrolls for this pre-engagement. I've never been, but I've heard great things about it :thumbsup2

Isn't this a bit...presumptuous?! I mean, I love my boyfriend and I'd say yes IF he asked but he's not going to so I'm not about to start planning our wedding :rotfl:

You couldn't pay me to plan another one, but I'm glad I did it!

I wanted a Disney wedding soooo bad but we just couldn't afford it. So we did a Cinderella themed wedding. Everyone told us it was the best and most beautifully wedding that they had ever been too so we must have done something right. All in all including the dress and location, the whole thing ended up costuing about $7500. I think we did really well considering I ADORED my dress, we used a country club, professional flowers, professional DJ, professional chef caterer, and fed 150 people. The only thing not included in the cost was the open bar. That was $2000 and was our wedding gift from my FIL.

Our whole wedding was based on this figurine, which became part of our cake, as you can see in my avitar

Not at all...this thread was born on the weddings board where those of us that have had that conversation (in depth) with our dbf can throw ideas around about what we want and like. Unfortunately we were not wanted over there.

oh...c'mon...all girls dream of their wedding...whether they are 5, 25 or 50! It's not presumptuous if you've already talked about it... and.. even if you haven't... we probably wouldn't be with our DBFs if we didn't have HOPES of marrying them one day!!!

and..
Angelhalo?? I'd love to see pics.. I bet it was beautifuL!!!
My DBF told me that he knows Disney would be my dream wedding place, and he had a dream we got married on the Disney cruise...and I wore a Donald costume up the aisle.. LMAO
Crazy guy...but he must love me enough to place Disney into our wedding and his dream :)
