Planning trip from California to WDW and cruise

Hi,

I'm planning for our Sept 2014 trip.
We'll be flying from San Francisco/San Jose into Orlando.
We plan on 2 days at the parks, followed by a 7 night cruise, followed by 1 more day at the park, then flying back home.

How soon should I book our flights?
Right now I see one thru AA for $365 each...does it get much cheaper than that?

Any tips for ground transportation?
It will be for 3 or 4 adults and 2 kids (not sure if DH can go early before cruise)

Sounds like a fun vacation!

As far as flights go, I like to use Kayak.com to monitor prices. You can set up an alert that will give you regular reports on the current best price for your dates. Use that for a while to monitor the prices so you'll know when you see a good one. Once you find a good price, jump on it

For the past few years, I have seen RT flights between the east and west coast running about $400.00. $365.00 seems pretty good to me.

I just booked our flights for WDW for April 2014. I started looking pretty early and flights from Peninsula area were in the mid $400's. We prefer flying out of this airport because of convenience factor. If we fly out of San Jose or SFO, we would have to do a fly and park deal and it doesn't add up to be a savings. I seriously considered San Jose though because of Southwest. They have really good prices but never flown them before and didn't feel comfortable with their boarding system with my daughter. If it was just myself and husband, I'd fly Southwest. But many say it's not a problem. Personally, $365 sounds good to me but you have to feel comfortable with it.
