Planning trip for Pooh sized family members

Several of our party are Pooh sized and I don't want them to be disappointed or embarrassed if there are going to be problems for them to ride any of the rides. They are all between 5'5 and 5'10 and wear a 3X, sometimes a 4X. Can anyone tell me based on this minimal info if they will have any issues riding Test Track, Soarin', Rockin' Rollercoaster, Star Tours, or any other ride?

Thanks!

I last went in 2012 and despite being overweight especially in the belly area (3x size), I had zero issues riding any rides. Some were tight like Teacups and Dumbo a little but still could ride. The Speedway is the only one I would avoid because it looks small.

My DH and I road many of the rides you list (both of us are plus size, maybe even larger than your family members), without any trouble. We had no trouble on any WDW ride. I even rode the Speedway---which was rough on my back, but I fit just fine.

I'm 6'3 a little under 300 mostly belly and fit on everything you mentioned with no problems. The seat belts were tough, but someone here said stretch it out and buckle as your leaning backwards then sit down. I'm going to try that next time.

The speedway is no problem for pooh sized IMO, other than low to the ground. It may be harder for tall people than fat. I'm not even that tall and most the time when I was uncomfortable it was because of my legs. I was worried about 7d as I've read mixed reviews but it wasn't bad. A little tight in the legs, but it's not that long of a ride.

The only thing I wouldn't get back on is the Astro orbiter. I literally just fit in the opening. Getting out I'm sure was a sight haha. I kinda turned sideways and rolled/climbed out. Probably would've been better just scrunching my way up like I did down.

I really can't think of anything else that was even close to being a problem.

They have nothing to worry about. My sister and I are larger than that (we are short, so we carry around the middle). We can fit on everything we ever tried. We don't do RNR but I understand that shouldn't be a problem. On ToT, if we aren't with our skinny family members to put between us, we ask to leave a seat between us because it's bit challenging to get the seat belts latched when we're beside each other. There's no problem latching when we have a bit more space - the seat belt is long enough, just tell them to pull it all the way out before they sit down, works every time. We do this every time there is a seat belt

I do all the other coasters with no trouble at all. Space Mountain looks intimidating getting in, but they'll fit. Getting out isn't too graceful, but the best thing to do is push up with your legs and arms until you can put your butt on top of the seat back, then stand up in the seat and then out of the vehicle.

7D was the only one we said we shouldn't have done together. If we rode in our own car there would have been no problem.

Dinosaur could be a bit uncomfortable if they carry their weight in their hips and thighs because of the hand grips digging in, but I found if I braced my feet on the floor it helped with the jarring.

Some of the attractions still have turnstiles. Some we could fit through, some not. Tell them, when in doubt, ask the CM to go through the gate. They are great with any accommodation like that. I have not had a single issue with any request we've made. (Including a "seat between" or separate cars) They always make us feel very welcome. We love Disney World! :flower:

My DH, DS and myself are all large (DD is still pretty tiny). As mentioned by PPs, we've run into issues with getting out of Astro Orbiter and Space Mtn and getting the seat belts fastened on rides like Test Track and Dinosaur. One thing I haven't seen mentioned tho is that you want to be sure to break your party into smaller groups on rides like Pirates and Small World. We made the mistake once of telling the CM that we were a party of 4 and they tried to make all 4 of us sit on the same row in the boat. Not happening. I had to flag down another CM to let them know we weren't going to fit and then we had to step back and wait for the next boat. The first CM had looked us over - how he thought we were all going to fit I don't know. LOL So be proactive cause every now and then you might get a CM like that. But breaking your party into groups of just 2 or 3 people should prevent that problem. You may need to do this on Aladdin's Magic Carpets as well. The ride vehicles are supposed to hold 4 people but that could be an issue if you put 4 of the larger members of your party together. You may have an issue with the bench not being wide enough and/or the belt not being long enough.

My DH and I were just discussing this last night. He is a large, tall guy - 6'4" 3XL minimum, and the only thing he had trouble on was the teacups and that was a height thing more than size. We didn't do all of the headliners because DD was too small but we did Test Track, Soarin and 7DMT with no problem at all.

I was a 3x/4x on our last 2 trips...I am also 5'8. I had no problem with soarin, test track, or pretty any ride. 7DMT was a little tight but from a leg point of view really. I've never ridden rockin roller coaster though so I wouldn't know about that. Disney is really pooh sized friendly lol

My hubby is 6'0 and 330 lbs and Rock & Roller Coaster is his favorite ride! No issues.

The tip about pulling the seatbelt out all the way is an excellent one. Makes so much difference.

3x/4x short female, carry most of my weight in the mid-section, was there in February and here currently. I've been on most of those, except for the 7 dwarves roller coaster (too long a wait!) and teacups (I don't do things that spin that much). I fit in everything. Occasional a theater seat is a bit tight (like Muppets 3D) but I fit.

Did see a big-and-tall guy riding Space Mountain, in the front car. He had a problem in that there was nowhere for his legs to go. He made it work, but his knees were practically up by his ears! I don't know if the second and third spaces were easier, if you're big-and-tall maybe someone else has some insight on that. (I'm big-and-short and the second seat was fine, I stuck my short legs up the sides.)

Same size as your family members and I go on pretty much everything but Space mountain because I hate it. I went on SM when I was slightly smaller and fit fine though. Just hate the ride!! 7DMT was tight but more for my legs than anything else. Pooh is a tiny bit tight but I go on it every time and its fine. I have gone on Astro Orbiter too just asked for my own car. Disney is very pooh size friendly.

Check out allears.net in the WDW At Large section. It breaks down turnstiles, ride vehicles, can even get input on where you carry your weight & long vs short legs. I carry weight in my chest and belly but am not particularly tall st 5'8". Rockin roller coaster's over the shoulder restraint doesn't come down very low on me, so sitting next to my daughter meant my face was blocked from her view and in our ride photo you can't really see her, but that's about it! Definitely helps to buddy up with a smaller family member vs having two of the larger folks together when possible.

I am thankful Disney is so "size friendly" and that coupled with allears' site to reassure my big dad ( had lost 100 lbs but was still 6'3" and 310 lbs) enabled him to come on my last trip and have a great time!

If you go over to US, though, expect problems. I'm 6-3, 335 (3-4XLT), and couldn't fit on either HP, Mummy, Simpsons, and after that I stopped trying.
