Planning trip around school...

Well, I think I may have found a condo that I really like, the thing is that it is only available starting one week before we initially planned to go. The kids last day of school is slated to be May 18th. Well between snow days and a few flood days, they got out on June 3rd this year. So I am kinda worried and undecided because the start of the trip would be June 6th. I suppose it would be no big deal since they don't do much the last few days anyway..but I wanted to avoid this if possible..but still want to go as early as possible due to the heat only getting worse! Anybody else have this dilemma?!

This past school year my daughters official last day of school was Thur. May 29th, but they also had off that Monday for Memorial Day, so we left Sunday, May 25th and returned Friday the 30th. She only missed the last 3 days of school and it was not an issue. Like you said, they don't really do any actual work those last few days so the only thing they may miss out on is some end of year party, but I don't think that little party could compare to Disney World I was able to pick up her report card the following week at the school as the school is still open and some teachers are still their for another week or two after school lets out.

I wouldn't worry if your kids miss the last couple of days of school--
what do they do just pack up their things--field day?

I have taking my child out of school for the last 3 years
with no problems.
