Planning to attend Halloween Horror night

I find that most resteraunts that are open do not have scareactors in them. We went to the I think Monster cafe where they serve pizza and was dead no scareactors. no scareactors in bathrooms. I think most scareactors are in the scarezones and not much elsewhere.

I am so excited to go - DH was very sad last year when there were no wenches writhing on the platforms as in previous years. When we went I think 2003 to IOA he stood infront of them for like a half hour so sick!!
There seemed to be plenty O' wenches when we were there :)

I agree the lines will be insane this year. I only expect to get thru the sound stage houses plus another. I'm not going to bother with any tent houses if the line is longer than 20 minutes. I need to get express, but last year it would have costed more than the ticket. I was like forget that, I'd rather go to dinner for $50 and miss a few houses. Oh, and here's another pic of a wench. HHN 16 The platform was in front of the Mummy. You must have missed it.

In a HHN forum, this anaolgy was posted by a long time HHN veteran/Scareactor regarding expected crowd levels this coming year and how previous crowds have been when compared to each years event:

Going back to the every other year idea, it could all be traced to a main part of each event.

10 = Big Attendence = Year 2000 / Jack (First true icon)

11 = Mild Attendence = Less than a month after 9/11

12 = Big Attendence = First year at IOA / Caretaker (Another icon)

13 = Good Attendence = Second year at IOA brings back customers from previous year, but the crowds from previous year scare some people off. Strong attendence, but not as big as 12.

14 = Huge Attendence = Two Park Concept

15 = Good Attendence = Just IOA, guests were scared by 14's mismanagement of the overwhelming crowds.

16 = Huge Attendence = Back to USF / All 4 icons

17 = Good Attendence = Guests are yet again scared off because of long wait times and nothing new being offered (8th house/parade)

Hehe... zombie hookers...

17 = Good Attendence = Guests are yet again scared off because of long wait times and nothing new being offered (8th house/parade)

Guests could certainly be scared off by last year's attendance, but the second part wouldn't apply if they do in fact expand the event. I'd like to think most people look at what the current event offers rather than the previous year's event. For example, the two park format was obviously the reason for 2004's high attendance, just as the move to IOA was the reason for 2002's high attendance.

After seeing what happened last year, they would be foolish not to expand the event this year.

I agree, the crowds were insane on the last weekend of the month when we were there, I'm glad we had the EPs. I'm going the last weekend of the month again this year, and again will have EPS for at least 1 night. I hope it expands to both parks??

i have some youtube shows of last years and years before hhn.

do i have to get the permission of that person who made them before i post his link here?

since you all love hhn as much as i do, just thought it would be kewl to share them with you.

Theres an hour long documentary of last years HHN available for D/L at SpendusWorks.com

The guy that made it is a regualr poster at IOACentral & The Vault. It's amazing quality and he did a really good job editing everything and putting it all together. There is even House Footage that turned out well.

We have figured what day we are going. It's going to be crowded for sure. We are going the Saturday before Halloween. We may even come back the next day.
This year it looks like we are staying offsite at the Nick Hotel. How easy is it to grab a Taxi back to the hotel after HHN?

We'll be there that Saturday as well (the 27th). It will be crowded, but with the stay & scream and EPs for that night, you can get all the houses done and then some!:thumbsup2:

Sorry, can't help with the Taxi question, we'll be on-site for that weekend

DH & I are taking our first UO/IOA trip this September (5 nights at HRH) and are planning on HHN. Since it will be the first HHN weekend, will one night with EPS be enough to see/do everything, or should we plan on two nights? Thanks in advance!

It looks like I just added 2 more nights to my trip. I got in on Airtran's $27 airfare from Philly, but now I am staying 2 nights longer. The good thing is now I will have 2 nights for the Royal Pacific. Do they ever have the party on Thursday nights?

they have had thursdays for hhn at the end of the month.
never the first two weeks of hhn has thursday been open for it

got my room at hrh booked for first weekend of october.
only staying 4 nights/5 days on this trip.

I'd personally reconsider going on that Saturday, even with Express. More than likely the most crowded night of the event (upwards of 40,000 people this past year.) Sundays aren't bad.

Opinions, please, from HHN fans - I have reservations at PBH for Fri - Mon of Columbus Day weekend (big kids are dying to do HHN again!). In '05 they attended the Sun night party and it wasn't too bad (did get them the EP)- this trip they have to fly home Sun night because now none of them have off on Mon due to new jobs - which night would you plan for? Friday or Sat? any real diff between the two? TIA !

I need to know also, which is better Friday night or Sunday night?

Ehh... They're both uber-crowded. I don't have official numbers for every night, but if I had to guess, Saturdays probably have the slightly higher attendance more often than not.

If you actually meant to say Sunday (and not Saturday), the answer is Sunday by a long shot. When the two weekend dates (Friday and Saturday) are at their absolute worst, you're looking at a difference of roughly 20,000 people. It's the night I usually go (although I went on mostly Thursdays this past year.)

hey, i'll be at UO the same time as you almost.
i'll be at hrh thur 10/4 and check out mon 10/8. my flight doesn't leave until 8 in the evening.

i'll be at hhn for fri, sat, sun.

if you have to choose between friday or saturday, take friday.
the last 2 years, friday was less crowded than the saturday. last year on friday night with it being open until 2 am, many left around 12:30 am.
houses and rides had little wait in lines.

on saturday even with the ep, there was still a wait for houses. some up to 20 minutes.
sundays used to be light but last year on the columbus day weekend, sunday was jammed pack. the frequent frear pass was used by possibly all holders it seemed like. it stayed crowded up to closing time.

if you go on a friday and buy the ep, you will be able to do it all and even twice.

each year, crowds vary but in the beginning of the month is nothing like the end of the month on crowds.

you should be fine for going on a friday.
