Planning the trip - How Is Early May????

So.... due to unemployment and the depletion of much of our savings our 2/14/04 wedding and Disneymoon is being postponed. We're looking at a wedding date of 4/30/05 and a Disneymoon following the first two weeks in May. What is the weather and crowds like that time of year?

May is beautiful. I may be biased, but it's my favorite time of year to visit Disney. Crowds are still very managable, weather is lovely (high 70 - mid to high 80's) and if you time it right, the Flower and Garden show makes the whole place that much more stunning.

We were there this past May and it was nice. It was HOT. Highs around 90. Crowds were great and the flower and garden festival was nice!

Let me start by saying that we usually go in early December. We were there last year in May for the Flower and Garden Festival and Star Wars Weekend, both of which were alot of fun. It was hot.......really really hot.......too hot to enjoy our free upgrade balcony. Hotter than the year we went in June and it rained in the afternoon to cool us down.
We still had a great time though. I don't really remember anything that was down for rehab. There probably was but nothing that we even missed. Crowds were very managable.

The crowds are easy to deal with except at the MK and Studios on early entry day and the MK on every Saturday. the weather on my 5 trips in May has been varied. It was in the mid 90's two times. the mid to high 80's one time and then varied from the high 70's to mid 80's two times. There has been very little rain most trips and no rain on one. Rehabs have been in the average catagory.

May '03 was our best trip ever. The crowd level was very low. Only on Mother's Day did we experience some waits at AK. We arrived on May 8 and stayed 8 nights. It only rained on one day for one hour. It was HOT though. It reached 93 two or three days while we were there. We'd definitely go again in May!! Congratulations and good luck!

I love WDW in May. The Flower and Garden Show is fabulous and the crowds are very manageable. The earlier in May the better, since schools are still in session across the country. I don't worry about the heat....it's hot in FL for several months of the year and we expect it. We're planning our next trip now too, for May 2-12

Hope you don't mind if I tag a question on this thread. We're thinking about May also. While I know it can be hot, what is the humidity like? Is it as humid as later in the summer? Being from 'cool, colorful Colorado' I really felt the humity this last trip.

Also, what part of the month do Grad Nites take place?

I have been 7 times in May and once in August and once in January.
August was mid 90's and humid. The two trips of mine in May where it was in the mid 90's was also humid though one was a little more so than the other. Most of the other times it has been moderately humid.

Grad nites can begin in ealry May. A couple years the MK closed early on Friday night. Once they shot of the fireworks off before the sun was all the way down so that they could clear the park and Grad Night could begin. It has never been any problem for us.

It didn't seem any more humid to me in May than it was last month (Sept.) But then again, I may be just used to it.
