Hi everyone! We leave for our planning session on Friday, Jan 12, and I wanted to get some details about what to expect. I can't believe it's in a week!!!!

What should we wear for the actual PS itself? It will be myself, my fiance, my mom, and my sister (MOH.)

I know they say to bring swatches and pictures and things, but I don't really have much. I don't have a dress for myself yet, and I can't get BM dress swatches because every bridal shop I call tells me that they will order the swatches when I order my dress and they won't do it without me ordering a dress. Is that normal? Anyway, even if it's not, it's too late now :)

What should I expect? I know we'll meet with floral and do a cake tasting and we won't get to do a food tasting because we're in the CG. What else will we do? Do we pay for anything that day?

Thanks for your help! I don't know why I'm nervous! I guess because we really have NO CLUE what we want and I don't want them to get upset with us.

I just had my planning session on Dec 19. All we brought were swatches and a picture of my dress. You do not have to pay for anything at the session. My one suggestion is to go over your planning materials and menus in wishbook before the planning session. I filled all those out in September and had completely forgot what was on the menus at our planning session! I felt a little stressed when we were choosing what to put on our menus. I'm sure your planner will suggest this, but always select more "extras" than you think you want. It's better to see the prices of things and then cut it out. I hope that made sense!

Have fun! The cake tasting was our favorite part! Enjoy :)

Thanks for the advice!! I have pinned my fiance down to have a 'discussion' about things like the food and stuff so that we have more of an idea of what we want when we get there. I also printed out the menu options so we can have that to refer too as well. Can you print things from the Wishbook so we could take that too?? My fiance and mother are looking forward to the cake tasting the most :rotfl:

OK, I am too ;)

What are we supposed to wear to our PS? Casual, Dressy, Dressy Casual??? Jeans, khakis and a sweater, a skirt? Help!! haha

I think you can wear anything. Khakis would be fine I think. I was in shorts and a tank when i went to talk to them. They didnt say or treat me any different.

I think it is pretty casual. I was in shorts and a tee shirt when we went for our site visit and meeting with Pam. Nobody said anything other than the tee was cute (it was my "Future Mrs..." shirt). We did see another couple coming in as we were leaving and they also were dressed casual.

I can't wait to hear how your planning session goes. Have a great time! :cheer2: We are scheduled for our planning session on February 23rd. I don't know if can wait that long!

We have had two planning sessions (we broke them up so we did food one day and decorations another).
If you don't have color swatches, but your weddign/bridesmaid dresses are on a website they can pull that up and work from it.
We dressed pretty casual- with all the stuff we did it was nice to be comfortable!
The cake tasting was the only thing that was dissapointing to us. They didn't have all the cake flavors or filligs available to try (especially the ones I requested) and the cake was dry! I know some people have actually gone back for another cake tasting because they weren't happy with how their first one went.
My advice is to have fun, but if you have any questions or don't like something let them know/have them fix it!

That's hard for me because I'm not usually one to speak up about things, however I have found myself doing it more as I get older. I'm nervous because I feel like I don't know what I should know by this point and I don't want them to get mad at me ;) I do have a binder of pictures from the internet of centerpieces and things that we like, plus a printed (color) picture of the BM dresses so hopefully that will help. Thanks!

:rotfl: I'm the same way- I want everyone to be happy and I hate confrontation! It's funny, at the food tasting they really seem to watch you and before you say anythign know what you do/don't like just from your facial reactions which is hard to control!
Don't worry, I have found they really want to know if you don't like somethign because they want you to be excited on your big day.
I would not worry about upsettign them- I am sure they have heard it all!
Have fun! Please tell us how it all went!

Ok, we leave tomorrow morning and I have one more question. What is the best way to get to Francks? We're staying at POFQ. We were going to drive, but I'm wondering if it might be easier to just take the bus to the TTC and then take the monorail to the Poly or GF and walk over because we don't usually have a car and don't know our way around there very well. Is Francks by the wedding pavilion, or is it attached to the GF? Help!!!

Thanks :) :) :)

I'd advise driving. Pretend like you're going to the MK, but when you're going thru the tollbooths, stay to the right and tell the person you're going to Franck's. Then just follow the signs. There is a parking lot right outside. And it is right by the wedding pavilion. It's probably a 5 minute walk from the GF. HTH!

If at all uncomfortable with the driving (I hate to not know exactly where I am going- get too nervous), just take the monorail to the GF (Poly would be a much longer walk) and walk to Franks. I enjoy the walk!

Whatever way you get there have a great time! :cheer2:

Thanks you two! I'm ok driving even if I'm unsure of where I'm going. I'm just worried about not judging the time right and being late. I know the confirmation form has this whole thing about not holding appointments and if you are late you get skipped  That is what makes me nervous!

Hey everyone! We just got home and I'll start writing my trip report over the next few days, so keep your eyes open!!! We had a great time :)
