Planning Session - tell me everything!

Hey everyone! We just got home and I'll start writing my trip report over the next few days, so keep your eyes open!!! We had a great time

just wondering if the food tasting is part of the planning session or do you have to request it I am going down in a couple of weeks and Ken Weaver called me today to inform me he will be my planner but he never mentioned a food tasting just the cake tasting.... now i am wondering if i have to request it, i had just assumed it all yook place at once

You have to request a food tasting. This is not done at Franck's. I am pretty sure it is done near the site where you are having your reception. The cake tasting though, is done at Franck's and comes automatically w/ the planning session. DF and I did not have a food tasting session b/c we're having a brunch w/ pretty simple items and did not think it'd be worth it to taste french toast or penne w/ vodka sauce You should call Ken and request a food tasting for when you are there. Have fun!

Just a note to add on to JJClemson's response... if your reception is at the California Grill or anywhere else that uses a pre-set catering menu for the receptions, you cannot have a food tasting. We are a little nervous, but tried to choose items that should be pretty basic.

We had such a dramatic morning (which you'll see in my trip report!!) We had planned on taking the bus to the MK, then the monorail to the CR, however, we ended up driving and it was SO EASY!! We actually met our coordinator at the CR to see the rooms first, and then drove over to Franck's. We were at POFQ and it was such an easy straight shot from there. Our front desk gave us a property map and highlighted the path to take and it was simple.


I promise I'll try to get my trip report up and going ASAP. I had to miss 2 days of school so I'm still sifting through what the substitute did and report cards are due on Monday morning. Once I get all of that done (hopefully by tomorrow) I'll get my report going Thanks again for all the well wishes!!

Thanks for the info guys! I emailed ken and requested a menu tasting, I am so excited If you guys didn't tell me I would have went to the planning session assuming to be tasting lots of food I cant wait to hear your trip report Karen, I have been checking every night for it
