Currently all of my points are banked. So I have 480 points for 08.

If I want to request a ressie now for Spring 08 I can borrow those points right?

Then if I also want to request a ressie for Summer 08, but am short 8 points will I be able to borrow those 8 points from 09 before my Feb. use year???

Assuming all of your points have a February use year and the points you speak of being banked are 2007 points, your banked points will be available after Feb.1st 2008. If your reservation for your Spring 08 trip is for a date after Feb 1st, then the points will be available to use and you can make your reservation. The key is what points are available at the time of your stay, not what points you have when you make your reservation. If it is before Feb 1st 2008, then you will need to borrow your 2008 points. You cannot use your banked 2007 points until 2/1/08. For your Summer 08 trip where you need 8 points and if you have used all of your banked points and 2008 points then yes, you can borrow those from your 2009 points. If any of the points you speak of are banked from 2006, you will need to use them by January 31st, 2008.

Bear in mind that WHEN you make the reservation has nothing to do with what points are in your current account, but in your account at the time of the stay. You can always book at the 11 or 7 month booking windows and teh points will be removed from the appropriate year.

YOu don't say what your use year is, so your original question is impossible to answer. If you are trying to make a ressie in your '08 use year, those banked points will be used first. If your stay is still in your '07 use year, you will need to borrow '08 points for it. That would likely be the case if you have a late in the calendar year use year.

Since you have a February use year and assuming your points are banked 07 points plus your Feb 08 points, you can make a reservation using any of those points as long as your stay begins after February 08. If you need to borrow points from 09 for a later reservation or for even that reservation you can do that also. The key is when your reservation begins not when you want to make the reservation. It took me a while to catch on to this concept, but I think I finally have it in my head.

Got it thanks for the clarification. I called member services set for April vaca. now. I just need to wait for the 11 month window to book next summers vacation too...

I use a great spreadsheet that I downloaded to keep this all straight in my head. I found the link on the Dis, I shall see if I can find it again.

You can use Banked from 07 and BORROWED from 09.

I am trying to remember who I downloaded it from. CaskBill is excellent for working out how many points you need for a trip, but I prefer this other one for keeping track of what I have spent and what I have available.
