Planning our Wilderness Lodge Adventure! Nov 8-15 ~ We are back!

Hi Brook! I hope the launch stays on schedule too. It's a stroke of luck to be down there when one is scheduled and they are very cool to see. They are just so unpredictable though - they can be postponed days in advance or just hours before.

Calendar is so cute! I've got to get cracking on mine!:rolleyes1

Joe checked today....the launch has already been moved to the 16th and we'll be back home....:guilty: :sad2: All well....maybe, just maybe, they will bring it back to the week we are there! :confused3 Joe is going to keep watching, just in case!

Yes, you gotta get going on it! We are actually FINALLY getting close!! :dance3: I still have to do my LGMH tags...that is going to require more crafting....:scared:

Love the Muppet shirts! Sorry to hear that the launch was moved. We went to KSC on a launch day and it was jam-packed. SO much traffic! But it's a pretty quick ride (maybe only a half-hour or so?) and we rented a car that day. As I remember it was pretty easy - the car rental place was on property and had a shuttle that picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel. I want to do this with the boys on our next trip - they're old enough now to appreciate it - but I will never go back on a launch day! :scared1:

Oh yeah, we ended up seeing the launch from the car rental parking lot! It was very cool! :thumbsup2

The countdown is looking good! Sounds like you're training H early in the ways of the Disney obsession. ;) LOVE the muppet t-shirts.

Bummer about the launch! I guess if you don't get to see one this time, that means you'll have to go back soon to see a different one.

Hi Brook,
I think there might be a Blue Angels air show at KSC on Saturday, November 8. We thought about heading to the area a day early to catch it, but we couldn't get airfare with my DH's frequent flyer miles. Maybe that could be a good substitute for the launch??

I cannot even fathom the crazy traffic on a launch day! I would probably go bezerk from it all...:rotfl: I hate driving soooo much, espeically when I don't know where I'm going and in heavy traffic.

Today at Best Buy I showed H all the Disney movies, pointing out the characters - he enjoyed patting the covers and was grinning away.

DH and I love the Muppets!! We have a bunch of the movies coming up on our Netflix...:yay:

Exactly!!!! :rolleyes1

The Blue Angles air show sounds REALLY COOL! I'm gonna mention that to Joe right now...maybe, just maybe...Thanks for the tip! :goodvibes

Sorry about the launch being postponed. It would have been so neat to see. I would love to watch one some day!

Hey there -
So sorry about the launch... it's a bummer. I remember how excited we were at the prospect of seeing it and then they had to go and switch things up! Don't they know it's not nice to mess with our plans!! :lmao:

No kidding! :rotfl: Sometimes we obsessive planners don't do well with our plans being changed!!! ;)

10-02-2008 - We've got...DISNEY MAIL!

Today has been an interesting day at work....DH and I are working from home today and Henry has been OUTRAGEOUSLY crabby. Screaming for no reason at all...just very, very fussy. So in our attempts to calm him down and for a few minutes of sanity, we decide to enjoy the beautiful fall day and take a walk around the block, stopping at the mailbox along the way.

We get to the mailbox and what do we find?????

DISNEY MAIL!!!!!!!!

I am soooo excited at this point, I'm practically skipping around the block. And of course as soon as we get back in, I open the envelopes and pull out the beautiful ME tags...

IMG_0302Small.jpg

I found we got 2 ME envelopes, the 2nd was for our trip back home-no tags needed, but since we are leaving from a different resort than which we arrive, we got two envelopes.

And naturally, this made me realize we have 37 days left. THIRTY-SEVEN! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Since our house isn't getting many showing, I opted to hang the countdown back up-this time with magnets in Henry's room. It works pretty well! And I know Henry likes it because every day he looks at the countdown and reaches for it, anxious to pull off another tag. Makin' his momma so proud. ;)

Of course over the past few days I have been second-guessing EVERYTHING. :headache: I have been reading so many rave reviews of Teppan Edo and Tutto Italia, and so many "eh" reviews of LeCellier. Should I cancel LeCellier and get something else? Or just hope for the best? I went to Joe today with all my wonderings and he pretty much told me to calm down and stick with what we have. I'm going to take his advice. I'm sure we will have good meals, and even if we don't-we won't let that ruin our time! And he even said it, "It's a perfect reason for us to go back." Have I ever mentioned how much I love him? :goodvibes

And one last bit - we have decided not to adventure our for any sort of show at the space center. If the launch just happens to move back to our week (doubtful), then we will go see that, or at least Joe will. Otherwise, it's just turning out to be a lot of extra planning and time (and money). We will just have to plan ANOTHER trip to work all that in...aw, shucks! ;)

Thirty-seven days!!!!!

Gotta love that Disney mail!!!:cool1: Doesn't it showing up make the trip seem VERY real?!?!

That Henry is getting excited about the countdown calendar and reaches for it each day is just way too cute! Way to start him young!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

You guys are going to have so much fun!!!:thumbsup2

WooHoo on Disney mail!:woohoo: (which reminds me - I haven't gotten MY ME tags yet!) I did get something else though - you'll just have to check out my pre-trippie tomorrow to see what!;)

And I agree with the hubby - stick with what you have. Personally, our family LOVES LeCellier! We go every year - love the food, love the staff, love the coziness of the place. We've never been disappointed in a meal there. Besides you need to set a goal for yourself: try every restaurant on Disney property. Knock off LeCellier this trip; hit Tutto's on the next one!:thumbsup2

Disney mail makes it so real!! :woohoo: I bet the next 37 days will FLY by!!

So you've got H rocking the countdown and DH already talking about reasons to go back... what is your secret??? ;)

Those ressies are hard to come by - keep 'em! You can always try something else next time!

DISNEY MAIL!!!!!!!!

Just what you needed! Very nice.

Jill, John, and Brooklynn leave Saturday morning. She is floating around Alabama right now getting ready!

Our Thanksgiving countdown is in the 50's, but we're not really focusing on that until she gets back from this trip. I can start joining in on a real countdown when she gets back on the 11th.

Your countdown calendar is looking good. To me, it always seems like once you hit the 30 day mark, it goes really fast, because there is so much to do.

Magical Express tags -- woo hoo!!!

37 days!!! I am very excited for you because I know that means you will be taking lots of photos of Wilderness Lodge! ;)

Don't second-guess your ADRs -- I have heard lots of good things about Le Cellier -- and besides, if you called to change it, the CMs would laugh at you and try to make you keep it (that's what they did to me).

My DH and I enjoyed our last meal at "Le Celli...however you spell (and say) it" so much that we tried to get a reservation for our November trip. I was bummed that we couldn't get one. You will not be disappointed!

YAY for Disney mail! Have you received your actual park tickets yet? When I ordered our MVMCP tickets they came right away. I paid the remaining balance on our trip on September 20, and we haven't received our tickets yet. Just wondering if I should be concerned...

::yes:: it is starting to seem very, very real! I have a small to do list and it's quickly becoming "crunch time" to get them done. I'm so excited!!

WooHoo on Disney mail!:woohoo: (which reminds me - I haven't gotten MY ME tags yet!) I did get something else though - you'll just have to check out my pre-trippie tomorrow to see what!;)

I haven't been on the DIS in the past couple days, I realized I was kinda ignoring DH a bit :sad2: by constantly having the laptop in front of my face, so I'm behind on your PTR - along with the other 900 I read! :headache: But, DH is mowin' the lawn right now, so a perfect time to catch up! Your ME tags should be coming veryyyy soon!

Thank you for the vote of confidence on the LeCellier! I had orgnially read that Tutto's was a temporary place, has that changed? Do you know if it will still be there in 2010?

Disney mail makes it so real!! :woohoo: I bet the next 37 days will FLY by!!

So you've got H rocking the countdown and DH already talking about reasons to go back... what is your secret??? ;)

:rotfl: Disney did all the work itself on DH, I really didn't even have to try!! And Henry is just a smarty. ;)

Those ressies are hard to come by - keep 'em! You can always try something else next time!

You are right, I am stopping this second guessing and KEEPING IT!

Just what you needed! Very nice.

MeMom you are getting so close to your trip too! When Jill gets back the time will just ZIP by I bet. So nice that Jill gets to go, come back for a bit and then go again! You guys really get your money worth on those APs, don't ya? :goodvibes I love reading all your reports!

Woo hoo! Disney mail! That's really exciting. This last month is going to go by so quickly!

Yes, it really will! We are already almost half way through the countdown chart!

Magical Express tags -- woo hoo!!!

:lmao: When I was talking to DH about switching LeCellier all I could think about was when the CM laughed at you and didn't believe you really wanted to cancel it, thinking I would most likely get the same reaction!

And yes, there will be oooooodles of pictures of WL, with our new camera and the beauty of that place, and knowing I have a TR to write, AND knowing you are going, that means we'll both be shutter happy!

My DH and I enjoyed our last meal at "Le Celli...however you spell (and say) it" so much that we tried to get a reservation for our November trip. I was bummed that we couldn't get one. You will not be disappointed!

I haven't a clue how to pronounce it either! :rotfl2: I just tell DH "the steakhouse". Thank you for assuring me with LeCellier too! I am definitly keeping it! I've wanted to go there since I started reading the DIS, so I am sure I would have major regret if I did.

Nope, we haven't gotten our actual tickets yet...we paid our balance right around the 20th too....I forgot that they even came in the mail! 2 years might be too long between trips, I forget all the little workings. ;) Anyway, I would think they should come in the next couple weeks...I will post here when we get them! If I don't see them by late October I'll let you know too and will contact Disney.

Speaking of contacting Disney, I gotta do that! I had orginally thought to order a cake at one of our meals for our anniversary, but I'm really not all that keen on cake, and I've read the cakes are a LOT to eat. And with dessert at every meal on the DDP...it was just seeming like too much. So, I'm opting to possibly have something delievered to our room instead-like chocolate covered strawberries, something sweet and yummy! This would be a total surprise for DH. :thumbsup2 Since he's outside workin', now is my perfect chance to find out what the WL offers!
