Planning our Wilderness Lodge Adventure! Nov 8-15 ~ We are back!

:lmao: When I was talking to DH about switching LeCellier all I could think about was when the CM laughed at you and didn't believe you really wanted to cancel it, thinking I would most likely get the same reaction!

And yes, there will be oooooodles of pictures of WL, with our new camera and the beauty of that place, and knowing I have a TR to write, AND knowing you are going, that means we'll both be shutter happy!

Hurray!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Speaking of contacting Disney, I gotta do that! I had orginally thought to order a cake at one of our meals for our anniversary, but I'm really not all that keen on cake, and I've read the cakes are a LOT to eat. And with dessert at every meal on the DDP...it was just seeming like too much. So, I'm opting to possibly have something delievered to our room instead-like chocolate covered strawberries, something sweet and yummy! This would be a total surprise for DH. :thumbsup2 Since he's outside workin', now is my perfect chance to find out what the WL offers!

What did you find out? When I thought we would be staying at AKL, I wanted to order the animals and sign thing that they do, let me know if you find out about anything cool that WL does! Please. :goodvibes

I just happened to call right during the 2 hour window of the day that they are closed. So, I was going to call back, but then DH came inside....so no news yet, but I will be sure to post it here and can PM ya with the details as well!

The chocolate sign/animals cookie things at AKL looks sooooo yummy. I'm really hoping they have something similar at WL.

10-06-2008 - "Ohhh, those are ammenities!"

I just got off the phone with Private Dining at the Wilderness Lodge, I was finally able to call them when DH wasn't hanging around.

At first I asked about sweets or desserts that could be delivered to the room, so the CM launched into the list of very yummy sounding desserts on their Room Service menu...Burbon Pecan Pie, Carmel Apple Pie, Tripple Mousse Pie, Smores Cheesecake, and Pints of Hagan Daaz Ice Cream.

I just said "Hmmm....that's not exactly what I was hoping for..." and explained about the cookies/chocolate treat from AKL. Her response..."Ohhhh, those are ammenities! Ammenities. For ammenitites we have..." and she launched into the list.

Ammenities. Now who the heck would think to call and say "Hi, I'm calling about your ammenities."   I think that would be the pool, hot tubs, wirless internet, etc. But all well! I got the list and THAT is what matters!

$40 - A milk chocolate box with assorted truffles inside. The Wilderness Lodge logo is in candy on the outside of the box.

$25 - A white chocolate Donald Duck, chocolate drizzle on the plate that Donald is on.

$25 - 8 cookies (forgot to ask the flavor(s), in the middle of the cookie is a Mickey Head shaped rice krispy.

I'm thinking either the chocolate box or the cookies will be what I will order...I gotta scour the DIS for pics, they gotta be out there, right?

And since you don't have to order your ammenity until 24 hours before delivery, so if I want it delivered on our first night at WL, I have 34 days to decide. :thumbsup2

I wouldn't think to call those amenties either. :confused3

Sounds yummy! I like that you don't have to decide right off the bat!

Amenities?!? Yeah, that's the first word that comes to mind! Uh, NOT!

Let me get this straight... for the one option, the BOX is made out of chocolate?! I'd like to request all my Christmas & Birthday presents come in that sort of box from this point forward!

Have fun deciding!

Amenities? That's a very bizarre word for it. The chocolates in a chocolate box sound cool, and I don't even particularly care for chocolate. Have fun making up your mind!

Me too! I was thinking the CM was going to have to say we have to order 2 weeks in advance or something. I haven't searched yet for the pics, I will link to those if/when I find them.

I am not a big fan of chocolate either, at least chocolate by itself. If it has nuts, or something in it/with it, I generally enjoy it more. Espeically peanut butter. Mmmm...chocolate and peanut butter....:cloud9: Anyway, back on topic - I thought that box/truffle deal sounded pretty cool despite it all being chocolate too. And just the fact that it's a chocolate box, which is so crazy, makes me want to order it.

And, I'm very happy to hear I'm not the only one that was baffled by the word "ammenities". But hey, at least now in the future when ordering these we all know what to call them! :goodvibes

10-07-2008 - MORE Disney Mail!

Tonight when we checked the mail we had 2 envelopes from Disney! :yay:

Inside were our ME, Planet Hollywood and hotel vouchers, and our luggage tags!!

When I looked at the countdown and realized we are at ONE MONTH tomorrow, it really hit me! I gotta get my to do list going:

-Call Disney about code (I don't know if I can still apply a code being that we've paid in full )
-Call Disney to make sure our anniversary is on all ADRs
-Call Disney to check on room requests (inner courtyard lobby facing, king sized bed, pack & play, anniversary)
-Call Disney and make sure our debit card is on file
-Decide what "ammenity" I want delivered for Joe
-Figure out how much money we will have in our vacation fund and try to guesstimate on a budget
-Review packing lists
-Figure out if we are going to do a park & fly or not (this is on Joe's list!)
-Determine order for GardenGrocer.com
-Buy a notebook for my trip journal
-Empty camera and video camera, and make space on laptop for LOTS OF PICTURES! :thumbsup2
-Buy 4 cup filters and coffee for room

Joe said he wants to start packing soon, so reviewing the packing lists is top of the list!

Thanks for the heads up! I'm looking to order those choc.covered strawberries that look like tuxedos for DD's birthday in Feb. - I'll be sure to call the "ammenities" hotline and not room service!

1 MONTH TO GO!!!!!:cool1:  :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:

(I have sooo much to do too! But I did get my countdown calendar finished!:thumbsup2 )

Those ammenities sound fun! I wonder if Pop offers anything like that...

We are at the 30 day mark on Friday. I hope we get our Disney mail soon!

I would not have thought to call them amenities either? But they do sound good. Can't wait to hear what you choose!

I know what you mean about being a month out and suddenly have too much to do. It's like I was planning for so long I didn't realize time was ticking away and now I find myself panicking over all that is left to do (but in a good way b/c it is WDW afterall!)

Hey- I didn't get luggage tags. :headache: Just the sticker things for ME. Is that b/c I did room only and not a package??

1 month! WAHOO!!!:dance3:

It's gonna fly by! Isn't it crazy how once 30 days hits, the reality of the trip being so close hits and you realize how much you need to do?! Sounds like you've got a manageable list though. (and if you do park 'n fly... all I can say is stay away from that certain Days Inn ;) ) :lmao:

Those strawberries look soooo tasty!!! YUM!
I have to get over to your PTR and check out your countdown calendar! I cannot stay caught up on everything I'm subscribed to...I think that's a DISease.... :rolleyes1

I still have to do my LGMH tags, another thing to add to the list.

I do recall reading a thread quite a while ago about a woman who ordered chocolate covered strawberries to her room at Pop. The Private Dining line there was very accomdating to her it sounded like! Might be a fun thing to check into.

You should be getting your Disney mail veryyyy soon! I am thinking the actual park tickets are on our Keys to the World and we get those at check-in because we still haven't gotten those...

Our luggage tags came with the hotel vouchers, ME voucher, etc. The ME sticker tags came seperatly. However, I do think it is part of the package if I remember correctly....

Exactly...I've been planning since stinkin' Feburary, it felt like it was never going to come. I remember thinking "Henry will be 14 months when we go...that is SO far away..." and here we are! Very hard to believe.

1 month! WAHOO!!!:dance3:

:rotfl2: No Days Inn! :goodvibes Joe decided yesterday that we will save money and just do a park-n-fly without a hotel. There is a park-n-fly lot across from MSP that cost us a total of $58 for 8 days, so that's about half of what the hotel would have cost us. Granted we are going to have to get on the road around 3:30 am to make it to the lot by 5:00 am, then our flight is at 6:30 am, so that's gonna kinda stink, but hopefully Henry will sleep on the plane and I can join him! :thumbsup2

Just think: once you are done with your list, it will be time to go to Disney World!

I KNOW! YEAAAAAAAAA! So, so close!

Disney Mail must be great! I never got any :sad1: I always pick up my documents at the hotel (as arranged by my travel agent). Which is ok this way they can't get lost in the international mail :thumbsup2

I am checking in to tell you that you inspired me to sign up for weightwatchers online   I did this four years ago and was very happy that I lost 12 kilos (25 pounds???), but then I put quite a bit of that on again (but never all of it!!). So this time I will do it right!!! Thanks for getting me to start again!

"Amenities" - good to know. That chocolate truffle box sounds soooooooo yummy! :cloud9:

Disney mail is a lot of fun-help you realize how close the trip is! But, it's a VERY good thing for you they don't mail it, you don't want that precious cargo lost!! :goodvibes

And WOO-HOO on checking out WeightWatchers again! I am happy to hear I inspired someone, it truly is an amazing program that has changed Joe and my lives forever. I do expect when we go into the "maintenance" portion, and then eventually stop doing the actual tracking we will gain some back-but even like you, I bet it will never be all of it! WeightWatchers just teaches someone how to eat wiser, portion sizes and balance. So anyway, I'm thrilled to hear that you are motivated to go for it again! I was in a plateau for about 3 weeks, but I BROKE IT this week! 9 POUND 'TIL GOAL!!!!!!

2.gif
I have to add that to my "to-do" list also! Unfortunately the ones I made for our last trip fell apart by day 3!

Yeah - I'm real crafty!

:rotfl: I'm pretty much expecting mine will fall apart fairly quickly...DH has a laminater gadget that I plan to use, then I'm going to pin the LGMH onto the Baggalini and stroller. Hopefully that instead of a ribbon tying it will help keep it longer....either that or it will get snagged and rip right off!

28 days!!!!!! Getting soooo close. I had a dream last night we were in the single digits. Too bad it was a dream!

The truffle box is what I am leaning toward-it just sound so pretty and delish. I am exploring a bit on what DisneyFlorist.com has to offer-I find beautiful (and tasty) looking things here on the DIS, but I'm not finding anything on their website that quite catches me.
