~ Planning Our Next D-Land Trip, Hotel ? ~

Hello! We are planning our next Disneyland trip and would like to know if anyone has stayed at the Portofino lately?
* Would you recommend it, and why or why not?
* How would you rate the distance to walk to the parks?

We stayed there in March for my sons birthday and were happy with the room. What we really loved is the family suites with sliding doors that split the room. We were travelling with our two kids and a friend so It gave us a bit more privacy and gave them some space to watch TV and relax while we were in the room. The room was clean, service was decent and even with about 200 cheer/dance kids staying there it was fairly peaceful.

We didn't walk as we have AP's and get free parking so we just drove down the street a bit to the Toy Story lot and rode the bus in, but according to the measuring tool on Google Maps it's just shy of 3/4 mile from the hotel to the center of the esplanade, so figure on a ~15 min walk. It's a 1/2 mile to the Toy Story lot bus loading zone, so probably not worth it when you figure in the 10-15 minute bus ride, but it is an option.
