Planning Our Happily Ever After - A Disneymoon PTR! (NEW 7/13 - TR Link!)

OOOH those are some fancy dancy invites! Love them. Interesting that most of your weddings are buffets. I don't think I've ever been to one that isn't a sit down meal. I'll say it again, I love that you learn so much about different parts of the US on the DIS...it's not just about Mickey :rotfl2:

I thought this was interesting, too (though we live in the same general area).
I had a buffet and was definitely an 'odd ball' among my family/friends!

Courtney- your invites are fab! Though I would be curious to know what the mailing would be... whatever it is would be totally worth it, I think... I would be soooo impressed to get an invite to a wedding that looked like that!

Food sounds and looks delicious! Can I crash your rehearsal and wedding? (I'll just eat quietly in the corner :lmao: )

Invites = fabulous! If I received an invite like that I would show it to everyone! I keep all wedding invitations I receive. Does anyone else do that? I feel guilty throwing them away.

I've only ever been to sit-down wedding receptions. Buffet must be much more cost effective though.

If you need seat fillers, I'm sure a few of us DISers will be willing do come down. Heck, me, Kristine and Joyiemc all live in MA, we can carpool down together :rotfl:

Those invites are so gorgeous!! I think people will definitely get the feel that your wedding is going to be super elegant!
The menu looks amazing too-- so Southern and very summery. Perfect for June. That tasting plate looks soooo yummy-- I wish I could try those short ribs, lol

Haha - I'm the one that's going to be the odd ball down here! :lmao: I think I will have to post how much the invitations end up costing to mail. Thankfully, they are pretty light, so maybe it won't be too bad. :confused3

I bet you would be a fun wedding guest! I wouldn't put you in the corner!

I think that is sweet that you don't throw invitations away. I am the same way with cards. I feel so guilty if I throw someone's away. So I end up keeping them all! :sad2:

Haha - I should set up a DIS table! I love the carpool idea! :lmao:

The invitations look amazing!

Thank you! :)

Thank you! :goodvibes The tasting was so much fun. I couldn't believe how much food they gave us! It was probably 4 meals worth. We ended up taking two to-go boxes home!

I just finished drooling over those to die for invitations and THEN I saw the food! Oh my gosh, YUMMY!!!! You know, I just realized I am only about a 4 hour drive from you, what time is the wedding...:rolleyes1

(Okay, for anyone who thinks I am stalking, I am just kidding...or am I???) :lmao:

Seriously, you are going to have an AMAZING time, what a wonderful party/celebration this is going to be! Of course, I woudn't expect any less from a Southern Belle!!! (being one myself).:) I simply love everything you are planning!!! THREE MONTHS!!! They will fly! :goodvibes

Oh my goodness ... I have been missing from the boards for so long and now I'm trying to play "catch up" :rolleyes1 Where, oh where, do I begin?

First, the invitations are absolutely to die for beautiful! Second, the food sounds A-frickin-mazing. Third, I love that you are honoring your Hubby to be's culture with the rehearsal dinner food and the arras and lasso at the ceremony. These are three of the four things we did to honor my Husband's Spanish culture as well. These were such sentimental parts of our ceremony and I love that we have the coins to pass on to my Son when he gets married!!

Can't wait to hear more!

Hi Courtney,

The invitations are beautiful! So elegant :goodvibes

Love your menu choices too & rehearsal restaurant... we only get to choose one appetiser, entree & dessert for our venue.. we have a menu tasting next month but it is going to be so hard to pick dishes that all our guests are going to eat! .. guessing we're going to pick the chicken or beef dishes on the menu ;)

3 months 2 days... wow!!!

Haha! Come on down! :goodvibes

This wedding definitely has southern written all over it. Or at least it's supposed to! :lmao: Hopefully it actually turns out that way.

How neat that you used the same things! I am really excited about the hispanic traditions that we are using. It's going to be a first for all of my family, so I'm excited to share it with them. Plus, I know it really means a lot to Miguel. :cloud9:

Thanks, Emma! :goodvibes For a while I thought I was having one option and I was so stressed over what to choose! I think in that case either beef or chicken is the way to go since pretty much everyone likes those. :thumbsup2

Haha! I did not know about Hugh Hefner! :lmao:

Thank you so much! :goodvibes Food is by far the most important to me!

Thank you so much! I'm so excited for them to come in. I can't wait to see the real thing with our names on it and start sending them out to people. :cloud9:

I'm really excited about the rehearsal dinner. That chicken dish is so yummy! I'm glad it's kind of on the casual side, too since the wedding is formal. :thumbsup2

Love love LOVE those invitations!!! They are absolutely amazing!!

The menus for your reception and rehearsal dinner look really yummy! I'm used to buffets here, too. I think I may have only been to one wedding that was a sit-down meal (including my own).

That chicken dish DOES look good! I am not one for spicy things, but I try to build up my tolerance! LOL

And yes, that would be nice that it is casual as the wedding is black tie :) It will be wonderful!!!! I am so happy and excited for you!!!!!

Only time for a Quick note ( I am cooking dinner). Are YOU fixing a special dinner like you had on Valentine's Day (That was SO yummy looking). I will be back. :goodvibes

Yeah, that sit down meal when I was 10 was the only one I had ever been to!

I don't do too much spicy either. Thankfully the chicken isn't spicy at all! :thumbsup2

Aww, thank you! :goodvibes Sadly, yesterday was a school night so I didn't have anything planned. I actually ended up leaving work early with a terrible headache and skipping school - but I couldn't do anything but lay around anyway. :sad2:

WOOOOO HOOOOO road trip to be wedding crashers!!! :thumbsup2

Actually Jen and I live within walking distance of each other and didn't meet until we just happened to run into each other at a local restaurant and recognized each other from DIS :rotfl2:

Wow that is so ironic! It really is a small world after all. ;)

ARRIVAL DAY PLANS

Around this time in exactly three months, Miguel and I will be settling into our room at the Poly and getting ready for the first meal of our disneymoon: Dinner at ‘Ohana!

I cannot believe that today we are only 3 months from the honeymoon and under 3 months from the wedding (even if it is only one day). I thought it might be a good time to start posting our daily plans! Our arrival day will not be too eventful since we won’t make it in enough time to visit any parks, but here goes!

On Sunday, June 19, Miguel and I will wake up for the first time as husband and wife! We have an awesome suite (thanks to my dad) at a really beautiful hotel here in Atlanta that I will be staying in with my maids on Friday night and using to get ready before the wedding and then of course we will stay here for the wedding night!

I’m sure we’ll have a late night since the reception doesn’t end until 11:00, so I don’t want to plan for too early of a departure. As long as we are checked in at the Poly by 6:30, I think we should be ok. So, the goal will be to be out of the hotel by 11:00, and since that’s check out time, we won’t really have a choice.

It will take us between 6 to 7 hours to reach Orlando and I know we will be so happy to see this sign (since it means we’re almost there)!

And this sign because it means we are there!

We’ll get checked into the Poly and keep our fingers crossed for some pixie dust to get an MK view upgrade. Whatever we get, though, I am sure we will love our home for the next week and a half!

Our ‘OHana ADR is at 8:00, so we will head over there at that time and gorge ourselves on food and Lapu Lapus.

After dinner, we will head down to the Poly beach and snuggle up for Wishes.

Then it will be off to bed to rest up for our first day in the parks!

The wedding night accommodations are simply STUNNING and very fitting of a Southern Wedding Night! I LOVE it!!! As for the Poly, :worship::worship: You know how to do things right! I love the arrvial day plans, the food plans, the accommodations...It really is a DREAM wedding for a DREAM life! I am so excited for you...these three months are going to crawl by and fly by at the same time...I am truly happy for you! :flower3:
