Planning Our Happily Ever After - A Disneymoon PTR! (NEW 7/13 - TR Link!)

Awww, I love POR! So romantic! Excellent choice!! Can't wait to hear about your ADR's!

I requested the mansions section too! AB is cute, but the mansions section is just beautiful! I love Gone with the Wind, and that whole section reminds me of that movie! REALLY hope we both get our requests! :cool1:

SO EXCITING!!!!!!
I wouldn't be able to wait that long to go! I am excited for you! 4 days is plenty enough time! That way you can try out your shoe choices too!!!!

A year and a half was just going to be so long! Especially coming here and hearing about everyone planning their trips - it just makes you want to get back to the world! :lmao:

Great choice! I've never stayed at POR, but visited it when I stayed at POFQ a few years ago (and once way back when it was still Dixie Landings and Port Orleans) It's beautiful!

I've stayed at POP my last several trips, so it is what I think of when I think of going to WDW. But as much as I enjoy it, it is not romantic or relaxing!

I really hope we love POR as much as POFQ! It's hard to take a chance and try something different when we know we've got a place we love so much - but hey - it's not that big of a difference! Just right down the river. ;)

I think that was what was holding me back on POP. I knew it was going to be a really different experience for us. It definitely seems more bustling and active than POR/POFQ. I would really like to try it sometime though. People here seem to really love POP!

I definitely think it fits into the theme of our Disney trips as of lately - engagement, honeymoon...:thumbsup2

 That's exactly what I think of AB too! I think it's really cute on the outside, but the inside of the rooms just don't excite me like the mansions do. I'm definitely hoping for some pixie dust and Disney magic to get us our requests! :wizard:

Hi again! Just back from the honeymoon to Disneyland (I will work on a trip report as soon as the thank yous have been completed!) and just catching up. I am SO excited to hear your big news: Italy AND another trip to Disney! Wow, I'm so jealous! :lmao: I can't wait to hear more about them both. It's been about 10 years since I've been to Italy myself but I absolutely ADORED it. We went to Rome, Florence, Pisa, Capri, and Sorrento and it was amazing. So excited to hear about your November trip to the World too! I too stayed at "Dixie Landings" when I was younger. It's such a beautiful resort! Keep it coming, can't wait to read more! :thumbsup2

Hey! I was actually thinking about you today! I was wondering how the wedding and honeymoon went. I can't wait for you to get your TR started! :goodvibes

Yeah, I've had lots of exciting announcements while you've been away!

We stayed at POFQ for our honeymoon and loved the area. You'll have to go over there to check it; POR is really pretty, too! Walk over to POFQ for breakfast one day and order beignets, though. You'll be in HEAVEN!

BTW, I have to tell you that I've stayed at every mod and value resort now. POP is a great resort! The food court is my all-time favorite, and we had great service. I was really, really impressed after not caring for the All-Stars.

Oh we love POFQ! It's my favorite Disney resort - I stayed there a lot as a child and then Miguel and I stayed there in 2009 and had a great time. We'll definitely be walking over to get some beignets!

I would like to give POP a try at some point. It sure would save us some money if we decided we liked it! :lmao:

NOVEMBER ADR’S

Since this trip was a last minute decision (in the way of making ADR’s – remember, we only had 3 days until our day) I didn’t have much time to carefully plan things out like I will be doing for the honeymoon. I had a few places in mind that we either loved on our January trip, or our previous trips, and a few that we’ve really been wanting to try. Also I was a little worried that it might be hard to get many ADRs because of our trip being over the Thanksgiving holiday. But, when I signed on to make them, I was pleasantly surprised! Here’s what we got!

FRIDAY
Crystal Palace 12:00 pm
Miguel and I first ate lunch at CP back during our March 2009 trip and absolutely loved it! The food was wonderful and there was a huge variety. Plus, Pooh is my favorite! I can’t wait to give him a big hug! I was a little torn between breakfast or lunch because I really want to try the breakfast at CP, but I’m planning on that for our disneymoon, so lunch it is in November!

SATURDAY
Akershus 8:35 am
This was one of our favorite meals in January! Lately though, I’ve been wondering if we really needed to do it again this trip. I asked Miguel tonight, expecting a “whatever you think” (his typical response when it comes to planning) but instead got an “absolutely!” If you read along with my TR then you will remember Miguel thoroughly enjoying himself at Akershus! ;) So it looks like this one will stay!

O’Hana 6:00 pm
This was are absolute favorite in January and is a must do for us from now on. I’ve been craving all of that yummy food since we ate there!

SUNDAY

Sci-Fi 6:00 pm
This is a new one for us! I’ve been wanting to try Sci-Fi lately, and was having a hard time working it into the disneymoon schedule, so I figured we can knock it out here! I hope we like it!

MONDAY
I should preface this day by saying we are not planning on keeping all of these ADR’s – I’ve got three of them! And as much as I love TS meals at Disney, 3 a day is too much for us.

Boma 8:00 am
I really regret not giving Boma a try while we stayed at AKL in January. It seems like the food is pretty similar to TH breakfast, which we loved.

Yak & Yeti 12:00 pm
This is one I’m on the fence with. There are some days were I think I’m just dying to eat there, and other where I don’t have much interest in it.

Chefs de France 6:30 pm
Another new one for us! Although I really would prefer to eat lunch here, but the scheduling just isn’t allowing it.

So, for Monday, I really need help deciding between Boma or Y&Y. What do you think DISers?!

We LOVE Sci-Fi; the burger isn't on the dinner menu, but I've been told that you can still order it (by special request.)

I'd vote for Boma; I've never been to either, but I've heard Boma is one of the best breakfast meals on property! Plus, it's an excuse to go over to AKL and explore some more!

I'm really hoping they'll let me order the burger since that's what I'm going for! I better find a back up just incase!

I'm currently leaning towards Boma, too! :thumbsup2

I'd keep Boma!! You can fill up on the buffet, since the lunch CS options at AK aren't so fabulous (at least I think so).

I think your ADRs sound great... although I must admit, I haven't eaten at many of them yet!

We also love Sci-Fi. Sure it isn't the most gourmet meal, but I personally think it is a nice break from all the heavy dinners we dissers tend to have! I got the cheeseburger at dinner, and it was really good. The atmosphere is great, and I definitely plan on doing it on our next trip.

I'm glad you are doing Akershus for your DF ;)

The reviews I've read for Yak and Yeti have been hit or miss. I'm in the same boat as you -- some days I really want to eat there, others I don't. In fact, on our May trip, I had it booked and then we changed when Cali Grill became a possibility. Since you really regret not doing Boma for breakfast, I think you should do that one!

I'd probably vote for Boma as the one to keep - I've never been personally, but I've heard amazing things about it, and I think you'll enjoy your dinner a lot more if you have a large gap of time between your two TS meals that day.

SciFi is great - I loved watching the old cartoons on the drive-in screen, and the food was really good (especially the apple crumble. OMG it was so delicious). The one real downside is the table area in your car is pretty tiny, so it was a little awkward fitting all of our food/drinks on there. But I think you'll have a lot of fun there.

I'm glad I've got another vote for Boma since I think that's the one I really want! I agree about the CS at AK. We typically don't eat a meal there (unless its TH). We more enjoy snacking at that park. :thumbsup2

I'm glad to hear you were able to get the burger! That's definitely what I want to try - that and the Oreo milkshake! :thumbsup2

I've read the same things about Y&Y. Some people seem to love it, but others aren't impressed. :confused3 I'm thinking Boma is the way to go!

That's a good point about having enough time to get hungry between meals. I normally don't plan for a lunch ADR unless I know I'm going to be doing CS for dinner for that reason. And since all of our dinner ADR's are fairly early this trip, that will be even more important.

I'll have to remember about this apple crumble! I'm really hoping they put us in a car. From what I understand they have regular tables too? :confused3

We ate at Sci-Fi for dinner on Brian's b-day last year and loved it! The car, the cheesy sci-fi shorts, and really good food! It was a fun relaxing place for us!

As far as Yak 'n Yeti v/s Boma, Y&Y looks good but I have heard so much good stuff about Boma that my knee jerk is Boma! However, maybe somebody else can help.

I will say if you need a CS we loved the Y&Y CS! I think it may actually be called Anandupur Local Cafe or something similar. We were hungry and just thought what the heck and it was yummy!

It seems like the overwhelming majority here says Boma! I don't think I've ever heard a negative breakfast review from there.

We haven't had a full meal from the Y&Y CS, but we did get some egg rolls from there in January and they were really good! :thumbsup2

From what I remember all the seats/tables were in cars, so you should be okay.

Mmmm, apple crumble... Can you see how big those pieces of apple are?

I like all your ADRs! :goodvibes great that you got some favourites included too... Crystal Palace lunch is one of our favourites too :thumbsup2

about the Boma/Y&Y dilemma (!) ... we had lunch at Y&Y in 2008 and really enjoyed it, the food was delicious and the service was excellent.. I think I had honey-chicken with rice & a 'yak attack' cocktail! :goodvibes
However.. out of the two, maybe it'd be best to stick with Boma.. that'll be a big breakfast -and will probably keep you going until dinner af Chefs de France later on!

Emma princess: x

I love Y&Y! It's sooooo yummy. They have a great Kobe Beef Burger there, it is quite possibly the BEST burger that I have ever eaten. :cloud9:

Boma all the way! lol though I would be biased saying that because I have never eaten at Yak and Yetti.

We are planning on eating breakfast at CP when we take our trip in October. I will let you know how the food is for breakfast, though I am sure it will be yummy!

We are trying Ohana this time around for breakfast and I have heard mixed things about it. So I hope it is great!

Sci-Fi is one we are always on the fence about, but it sounds like it would be a great place to try out! I have family that recently went to the world and ate there and loved it. The kids had a blast and it was a cool setting, they said.

Have fun with your planning!!! I know I am, and I am forever changing things around haha!!! [[we planned on staying at POP when we go in October, but I think my DH is changing us to Coronado Springs, with our last night possibly at POP]].
