Evening all!!!

This is my first post and would like to thank you in advance for your help. Myself and my girlfreiend are planning a 3 week holiday next September, i have been to Disney as a child but my girlfriend has never been-excited is an under statement!!

We have seen advertised that Disney are offering free dining for holidays between August the 2nd and October the 2nd i think so have been checking prices, im really flexible on dates and it seems to good a deal to turn down?

Im quite confused in what to do or who to book with whether to book a package or individually, i have a price of £1442.30 each for 21 nights in POR or POFQ direct with disney, free dining (counter) and the 21 ultimate disney pass as well as flights with Virgin on the 7th of September from Gatwick? We can aslo upgrade the dining plan for £4 each a day?

I am unsure if it might be cheaper to book a fly drive and a hotel seperately on I Drive but then you have all of your food costs? there is so much info out there i was wondering if anyone had any advice before i spend days checking prices and gathering information.

Any advise and info would be greatly appreciated?
Thanks

Eirian and Abbey

I booked the following offer before checking out of Pop last month:

Morning,

we two have been wondering the same as you. we stayed last year at POFQ and it was fab better than POR in our opinion.

I think if you really want to experience Disney you must stay on site and soak it up.I do think 3 weeks disney may be getting a little stale but that obviously depends on you. why not split 2 weeks disney 1 week I Drive?

we have just booked direct with Disney and they beat Virgins price by over £300.

I do think you should remember the better the class of hotel you book the cheaper and in some cases the dining plan is free!!!!

I do hope you enjoy your holiday whatever you decide

we just booked pofq for aug/spet next year with a great deal. we upgraded our dining for the £4 and we will get flights seperatly as I priced up the package with virgin holidays and they want to charge £7 each per day for the upgrade and for the hotel only it was £1145 each and we are paying £1528 for both for hotel, 14 day tickets and the upgraded dining plan. Ba have economy flights for our dates for 842 for both of us

Having just returned from 21 Nights on regular DDP,I would advise paying the £4,21 days of 2xCS would be too much, although lunch/dinner would be ok maybe once a day, twice would be a bit stale!
Everyone goes on about being in the "magic"? 21 Nights at CBR just didn't do it for us,if you count being in the magic as having some Mickey ears on a duvet & matching curtains!

Thanks for all the info so far, just a few quick questions, sorry if they are answered elsewhere:

1)with my girlfriend never been i think 3 weeks will allow use to do a lot of things, im planning on visiting sea world universal etc i would like to split it but it comes down to money really especially with the free DDP it seems like a good offer?

2)should i book on an american website to take advantage of the exchange rate?

im always open to suggestions, thanks in advance.

Are you renting a car? If so it is easy to get to the other parks from the Disney resorts & any meals that you miss whilst at the competition can be used another time eg We pooled our TS credits so that we could try out some of the Signature restaurants.I would advise anyone staying at a Disney Resort & planning on eating in Disney for most of their stay to get DDP,our average bill for 3 at Dinner was $120:scared1: Normally off-site this would last us all day!!
The main downside to booking thru a US site is that unless you are paying in full you will be at the mercy of the exchange rate on the day that you pay your balance-some you win some you lose.
I would expect the US economy to stabilise a bit after the Presidential election in November,IMO at the moment Obama will win at a canter.
