Weather not really an issue but crowds defo are !! id like to see the christmas build up at disney and know mvmcp will be on for both dates but will universal and other places have any crimbo stuff about??

first one
The second one is right with Thanksgiving day weekend so that would make the first few days of your trip very busy.

I'd go for the second one if you want Christmas in full force!

We have been a few times around this time of year - one thing if you are thinking of staying at Disney is that they hold the Pop Warner cheerleading competion & some of the hotels are full of them!

We stayed at POR one year - it didn't bother us. They all went to breakfast with curlers in their hair.:)

Does this make a differnce to crowd levels or just hotels??

Never found the parks overly crowded when we were there - the competition was filmed at Disney Studios in the Indiana Jones stadium - it was weird to see it on TV one night and think 'we were there today!'

Thank you so much for the quick reply x We will stay in a villa as we have 4 kids and find hotels to be hard work. Thanks for the info!!

I would go to the second one as it is in December and you will feel more Christmassy, then come home to enjoy all our festivities. We went from 10th to 21st December 2008, crowd levels in Universal and Islands were quite low compared to what we were used to. The weeks before the week Christmas falls in are supposed to be Disney's lowest, however, I found the parks quite busy not as busy as in July but still more than I was expecting. However, with Disney it was just a case of going there first thing in the morning and we did everything we wanted to do. Crowd levels are never really a problem if you manage them well in your planning.:)

I know when we arrived one of the festivities had just been launched the weekend before, unfortunately, I cannot remember at which park but I would say going in December would mean you would benefit fully with all the special Christmas events, whereas in November certain festivities may not have started. I will see if I have any leaflets to see if dates are given on them when I get a minute.

My eldest has just found the Epcot Holidays Around the World 2008 leaflet that ran from 28 November to 30 December this includes the candlelight procession and carol service.

Grinchmas and Macy's Holiday Parade (Universal and IoA) ran from 6 December to 1 January.

The other key things we enjoyed were the lighting of the castle with icicles at MK and The Osbourne Lights at HS, don't know when these started but these events MUST not be missed as they are fantastic.:)

Thanks again Wicket you are turning into my guardian angel :worship:

That's okay, just want to make sure you don't miss anything you want to do.:goodvibes
