Planning for Sept 2012

We (me and DBF) are thinking of booking 20th Sept-4th Oct 2012 at Port Orleans Riverside We have never been to POR or visited WDW during these dates.

Does anyone have any views on this resort? Has anyone visited WDW during these dates?

What's the weather like? How crowded are the parks?

Sorry for all the questions but the DIS is the best place to ask

We have stayed at POR at the end of September 2009. We love the resort and would reccomend it, the food court is one of the best. The ladscaping is lovely, we liked being able to get the boat to Downtown Disney and the kids loved the pool. The rooms are a good size and we love the theaming.

We always go to WDW at the end of september, it's a bit cooler and alot quieter.....and a bonus, Epcot Food and Wine is on an MNSSHP

Complete Orlando were coming in a bit cheaper than wdw - try them for a quote if you haven't.

You will get free qsdp at Port Orleans.

If you are at all interested in ddp it may be worth pricing okw or ssr as you get free ddp there.

September is low crowds and US free dining month - so you will be best to make adr's if you want any sit down meals.

Food and wine will be on at Epcot which is fantastic.

We'll overlap for a couple of days, we fly home on the 22nd!

I've been in September three times before, and it's been lovely. Weather warm and sunny, but with afternoon thunderstorms. One year we had a tropical storm, but that just made it a bit wet for a couple of days. It meant the parks were even quieter! I've not been in September while free DDP has been on offer, so I might find a difference next year. Will be making my ADRs at the 180 day window anyway.
