Any Replies Please !
Thanks a Big Ole' Disney Bunch !
Well, that depends. You can never tell WHAT the weather will do down here in the "winter" One day you could be lounging at the beach and the next day it could be . I'd say that the average would be beautiful warm(to you maybe, but us southerners wouldn't call it that.) sunny weather. Usually in the 50's at night (unless a cold front has just come) and in the low to mid 70's during the day. It would be very cool in the early morning and evenings, but nice during the day. Hope this helps.
We have been to WDW a couple of times during that time frame. We love it because we are there to do the parks. Yes, it would be nice for some sun and warmer weather too - but we love the vacation part of not being crowded and waiting in long lines and it is always warmer in FL then in MI. We usually spend 10 days and have found that we can wake up to frost on the ground - But you will still see my husband in shorts!
It has been in the hot 80's and then the mid 50's the next week. You just never know.
Your best bet is to pack a lightweight jacket of some sort, heavy weight t-shirts, pants, two long sleeve shirts, two shorts and a bathing suit. Sneakers are safer than sandals but I usually bring both. My last trip this Feb was pretty chilly...more like late October in the northeast...but the week prior it was in the 80's so I was doubly disappointed in that regard.
I think October is an excellent comparison month to pack for...some days its summer again and others it feels like winter. On average February had more summerlike days in it but not this year.
PS. Pack gloves and a hat or cap. The cap especially can go a long way towards eliminating the need for a jack. A regular baseball cap will work.
Okay, it sounds unpredictable, just like where I live in Michigan !
BUT, a January day in WDW beats a dreey, gray, cold & icy January day in Michigan, I should take my chances !
We were there this past January (10-16). Monday through Wednesday was sunny and pleasant, in the low to mid 70's. It cooled to the low 60's in the evening. The weather began to change on Thursday, and by the time we left on Sunday it was in the high 40's. So yes, that time of the year can have many weather extremes. Another January trip we took we had temps in the high 70's, low 80's the entire visit.
I was there in Feb. (President's Week) for 10 days a couple of years ago. 8 out of the 10 days we could wear shorts, needed a sweatshirt in the morning, was able to take it off in the afternoon, but needed it again in the evening. It was even warm enough in the afternoon to go into the pool. The last 2 days it was a complete change. Needed to wear pants and sweatshirts all day long. It got very cold.
