I just wanted to relay that I just read the other thread (which I previously missed in my looking over the board) and realize I will probably not luck out and get BCV or BWV....)

I want to start planning a stay for F&W next year. I was considering the 2nd-3rd week in October, just a Sun-Wed or Thurs stay. I don't really want to stay at our home resort (AKV), but I am worried about not getting dates somewhere like BCV or the Boardwalk just 7 months out. Of course, I want to be able to just walk to Epcot...don't we all want the best/easiest vacation we can get? Anyone have any suggestions, ideas, tips, etc??

book your home resort now and call to change and/or waitlist at 7 months where you want. (Although this is a case where trying to book 2 earlier days at the 7+7 window may be an advantage, if you are allowed, later to cancel the 2 earlier days..)

There seemed to be a number of waitlist successes this year, you never know (more right at 30 days so do not get discouraged, you are still at WDW!)

I'd think if you could book AKV concierge, you might find a BWV/BCV owner willing to trade, but not sure if this board would let you advertise such a trade...

Just what I did last year..booked AKV first and then went on waitlist for BCV 2BR at 7 months. Came through a couple of months later , and it was Columbus Day weekend! Our first stay at BCV , one of our best trips yet. Just can't beat walking to Epcot for F&W! ( No trip planned for us in 2009...:sad1: ..first time in nine years...both DDs are graduating next year one HS the other college and have to watch the budget)

Good luck and have fun!!!

Great advice, but I don't know what is meant by the 7+7?? I like the idea of possibly trading - but we prefer studios...would we have less luck trading for an AKV concierge studio than, say, a 1 or 2 bedroom?

I think what is meant by the 7+7 window is that you can book exactly at the 7 month mark for one full week (7 days). Techincally the 6 days after the first day would be beyond the 7 month mark and this makes it easier for all concerned so you don't have to call for each individual day on subsequent days.

I think one of those weekends is Columbus Day? IF so, I would suggest the other wone to try for the waitlist. There was one poster on here who spent a lot of time complaining that his Columbus Day waitlist put in right at 7 months NEVER came through!

I want to go at the lightest crowd time as possible. We just stayed for the first week in December and the crowds were so manageable. I probably will not aim for Columbus Day...if I were to pick a Sun-Wed stay - which dates would you choose - fo the lightest crowds?
