Planning for a large group, dining questions.

Hey!
Were coming apon our booking window and I have a few questions as I'm planning.

We are going to be arriving to AKL on the 1st of September. We have family that I am doing the planning for arriving on the 5th. They are added to my MDE as friends and family. When I make the plans when my window opens will I be able to include them on reservation even though their window isn't open?

Also, our group will be large, 12 ppl. Do I have to call or can I book using MDE for a group this size. Which will I have better luck doing to get our desired reservations?

Sure, you can make reservations for anyone you want. You should be able to book for 12 online (at least for most restaurants). I would try online first and only call if there is something you can't get.

I have a large family that I make the reservations for. I try to have everything planned in advance and book at the 180 mark. Some restaurants won’t book large parties online. I don’t remember which ones, but keep in mind that you’re responsible for the party and will have to be on the reservation. We had several reservations that had to be paid up front. When two people in our party couldn’t make it, they adjusted the bill when we arrived. The last time I controlled the trip there were 22 people. It got very expensive for prepay special events. This time there are 14 people and I’m only booking a few special dinners. Try to have your whole trip planned and call your dining in. There’s some Disney magic they can perform for you. You can add special requests or celebrations. Once you have the reservation number, you can link it to your MDE account and add the names. We also saved quite a lot by having the Tables in Wonderland card. But I think now they limit the amount of people who can get the discount in one meal.
Getting people to plan anything at 6 months out is the hard part! I feel like I’m herding cats

Beaches and Cream reserved a table for us, but it was split into several parties. When we arrived, we took up a corner of the restaurant. We had a blast eating the “Kitchen Sink”.
