Planning first trip to Kadani.....

I would book at the 11th month window...I just tried to get a reservation for a studio at Kidani 9 months out and had to waitlist due to nothing being available.

I just booked Kidani for Sept. 2009 last week...a little less than 8 months out. BUT...that's for September, not a more popular summer month. There was a LOT of availability.

Okay, so how does the new booking window work? I know that they changed it a little. Say we wanted to check in on Aug 1st for 7 nights when would I call? Thanks. BTW, I wish we could go in September, but I don't think it'll be an option this time....

If you have AKV points, you could have called last September 1 to book the whole trip. If you own something other than AKV, you could have started your call yesterday.

We have AKV points, but I'm talking about a trip in 2010, not 2009. I know it's early to discuss, but I'm starting to get excited about going.

You should be able to book 11 months from your 2010 check-in date.

You can book up to seven nights 11 months from date of arrival, so if first day there is June 15, 2010, you can call July 15, 2009 and book 6/15/10 to 6/22/10. If you need to add extra days, you can call day by day thereafter. As to AKV Kidani in summer 2010, you likely will not have to be overly ocncerned to call exactly 11 months out and probably will easily get what you want at even 10 months out except for time around July 4 which could have very high demand.

Just remember by that time Kidani should be finished and AKV will be the 2nd largest DVC resort, behind SSR. You will probably be able to get something during that time but may have to settle for an unprefered view, etc.

We're also planning a July 4th 2010 trip, but not at Kidani. We'll probably be going against other BWV for the standard view villas!!!

Dumb question...If we are doing 2 nights in a studio followed by 3 nights in a 2BR, can I book them all at the "11-Months from arrival" or do I have to call back 2 days later to get the 2BR? I know that the reservations cannot be linked since they are different room types. I guess I never thought about the fact that they are 2 different reservations with 2 different arrival dates. We are going spring break 2010 and planning on staying 2 nights in Jambo studios and then 3 nights in a Kidani 2BR. How does MS handle the split stays?

Last week I booked 4 nights in a 2 BDR at Kidani for August 09 and then wanted 3 nights at HH (2 studios). I had to call four days later for the HH reservation.

They are two different reservations, so require different check in days. That means you have to call twice to book.
