I am planning my trip with family to wdw in July. I always feel a little nervous when I start making ps reservations and buying tickets for cirque du soliel etc because what if we just don't feel like doing what we plannned when we planned it? Also is there any logical order or particular days to do each park? Do you guys think e-rides will be on Tue & Fri in July? HELP! I'm not sure where to start.

Rather than planning every moment, why not just plan one "event" for each day. That could be show tickets, an upscale dinner, a character breakfast, whatever. That way the rest of the time you can take things as they come.

We, too are going in July and I am also struggling with PS
ressies. I think like you, what if I do not want that food that day?
it is awfully far out to think about what I may feel like eating.

Remember it will be hot and muggy and take that into consideration as well. I think it might be hard to eat too many
big sit down meals. (for me anyway) that leaves one PS meal
and two meals to just relax and eat wherever on.

You can always cancel your PS if you decide not to eat at the resturant you chose. Unless you had to put a credit card deposit
down.

Yes, it is hard to make these decisions and feel you have to have
every minute of everyday "planned". But know there are soooo
many places to eat, you will not go hungry w/o PS. (even in July)

good luck.

oh, and as far as when to do the parks, if you are early birds,
i would go to the early opening park for the day, eat lunch, leave and relax/swim at resort and go back to another park at the end of the day. (around 4 to eat and play)

I don't think anyone is sure e-ride nights WILL be back. I do worry about overplanning. I have Whispering Canyon reservations for the first night and I am especially stressing that now, what if they don't want to go sit down and eat on our first night, and what if they don't want to leave our resort, so I know where you are coming from.
I try to plan no more than one thing per day and then plan our parks around that. For example, we wanted the princess b-fast in norway, so that's the day we go to Epcot. I try to plan to go to the which ever park has early entry in the am, then head back to the resort to rest, then go where we want in the evening.
I have also scheduled a babysitter for my one year old for the day that I think we will want to go to the water parks and a few other times so she can rest in the room without getting overtired.
I hate to not make any plans, because if you wait, everything is booked:(

Do what ducklite said, dont plan every moment. If I see you there with one of those rediculous dayplanners with every second of every day planned out at disney, Im going to tear it up! Plan some general things for each day and go with the flow. A little spontaneity wont hurt. It might even be fun. Maybe its just me. I just like to have a general idea of things I want to do, but for the most part let things happen. Vacations are supposed to be relaxing and carefree. Just my two cents.

In december, I went to WDW without one PS. The only thing I had in "stone" was my Cirque tickets. Even viewing the CP was flexible, as there were several nights with multiple viewing each night to see it.

I actually went with 4 possible itineraries (what park to go to on what day - when to see the firework shows/parades, etc.). Well, we didn't follow one of them. But they worked as a great outline & we still got to see just about everything we wanted. (now I must say that we went with another family who visited from Israel & so we worked around their jet lag the first couple of days)

This coming trip, (immediate family only) I will probably make one PS (Boma's) and create another "outline(s)" & wing it the rest of the time. I have never gone when it is hot & humid, so we will just go with the flow. (also DH will be working at an expo for 1/2 this trip, so depending on how tired he is, will also determine what we do what & when).

I feel the same way about planning. I am not going to know what I feel like doing several months from now. We don't plan a lot. We use to go end of June/beginning of July and just kind of planned day to day. Make sure you have PS's for day 1. When we ate dinner we would decide what to do the next day and then make PS's either that night or the next morning. The only place we couldn't get was Chef Mickey's. We even decided to go Parasailing and waterskiing one day and made reservations for 2 hours later, that was on a June 30.

I try not to overplan because I never seem to want to do what I plan...I'm going for 12 days in May/June and the only thing I have planned is Cirque. My DBF and I usually take one day at a time. Each night we decide what we feel like doing that day and then make the PSs that we want for the next day. We pick a few places just in case we can't get in but we usually do because we are flexible with our times, we aren't the kind of people who have to eat breakfast at 8 am or dinner at 5:30...we just take it one day at a time and our vacation seems so much more relaxed that way!
